Ziggy, that is appalling about the fiver, I would never shonthere again after that, I'd make sure they lost more than a fiver from me!

Definitely, I am so annoyed and think they did it cos he's a kid (a small 13 year old) which in my opinion makes it even worse, will be having words in the shop too.

    Morning everyone!
Have been out to do a few things first thing including banking after dropping DD off, who didn't seem ready for Monday to be here so soon!
Didn't manage to get paperwork done yesterday so have been catching up this morning
    Cat cleaning all done
Washing out on the line, sunny day but cold with it
Have a meeting later but kitty back to the vets for the follow up check up. She is looking much better, still looks like a bag of bones, but eating well.
Don't really have much else to report in, things are very quiet and settled now that missing kitty is home, everything seems right-thinking that will be my famous last words now!
ziggy I would definately be having words with the shop, that is really out of order doing that, especially to a child
Have a great day everyone x

    Morning Monday Money Savers,
Off to a good start here this week......not much choice, really, as I am waiting in for a parcel. I asked mr f to let me know if he gets a text with actual delivery slot.......he's just heard from them.....'Your parcel is out for delivery'. Oh. That's helpful then. Could be in the next half an hour, could be 6pm. Bah!! So apart from a sprint down to the veggie garden to gather some produce, I'm confined to barracks.
*Pegged out cheap overnight laundry (luckily can hear front door from whirlygig). Windy day here, so it should dry just fine. Another load just finished washing to make use of good drying weather. Remaining laundry will go on timer overnight to wash for half price.
*Cut a large bunch of sorrel & pulled a bundle of rhubarb from garden.
*Made 6 portions of cream of sorrel soup for freezer.
*Stewed the rhubarb which will be frozen in small pots for my breakfasts, desserts, etc.
*Prepped carrots for tonight's veg.....the rest aren't needed till Friday & won't last so prepped, blanched & froze. Can't bear food waste.
*Two containers of veggie peelings, sorrel stems, etc, waiting to go down to the worm composter once damn parcel has arrived. Harvested a big bucket of worm compost from it last week, have set them up again with shredded bank statement bedding & now need to keep topping up their food scraps to really get the liquid plant food into production.
    *Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Made 2 nice big beefburgers from leftover mince. Froze for next week's meal plans.
*Being tough with cat, who refused to eat most of last night's dinner & has taken exception to it being re-chopped & served up again for his breakfast.
Other things I shall do while confined to the house waiting: Several competitions to enter, catch up with surveys if I'm in the mood (which is unlikely), knit toe of current pair of Christmas present socks I'm knitting & cast on its pair ( the yarn was gifted to me), tidying & dealing with quite a lot of items which are still displaced following redecoration of the living room over the bank holiday. Intend to use up a few items in the fridge for my lunch & wash my hair, which will be left to dry naturally. If parcel arrives in good time, I have a veggie bed to weed as well as some free fitness walking down to the post box & to hand deliver an item in the village. Also a few greenhouse maintenance jobs. Sowed sweetcorn & cabbage yesterday & want to check the modules/trays are not too dry. Meanwhile, am entertaining myself with free gardening podcasts.
    Cheers all,
    F xx

Ziggy - Yes, that's cheeky with the old fiver, to give it to a child, who would be unlikely to twig that it's about to go obsolete. It didn't really even save the shop keeper a trip to the bank to change it, as he/she will still have to go & bank the takings. So customer goodwill lost for nothing.

It's not even just that they may not have twigged, the 13 year old me would have been embarrassed to point it out and crushed when they refused.

I'm in a right grumpy mood today, I stayed up too late so I'm tired (some ibuprofen have seen off my headache though) and I'm getting peed off at the culture where *everybody* has an opinion (that they are happy to voice tactlessly) on art matters when we wouldn't dream of challenging another professional on say, their crap headline or dodgy picture selection (well, the second we would but in the nicest possible way)

My new friend from the table top sale has turned out to be a bit hard work so I have blocked her number  This is why I have few friends :rotfl:

I didn't have any food to bring in today so bought McBreakfast on the way in and have just been to Mr T for supplies for the next couple of days.

Checking my WBB account it seems that a package worth #28 hasn't arrived/been paid out, (another I dropped on the same day, same destination has), in an amazing stoke of luck I have the receipt from the drop off shop but I'm not looking forward to chasing it out.

I'm a bit grumpy today as well FvD - just in case nobody noticed from my earlier post. :D
I'm trying to leave dh alone, as when his depression hits then we all have to suffer with it. I know it's not his fault but he is lazy even when he is well. I asked him on Saturday if he was just being particularly lazy, if he was ill again or hungover. He said all 3. I never know what to do because I know when he's ill then he's ill but if I try to get him to help himself I get accused of being a nag. :( I just make sure that there is something for him to eat and that he has clean clothes and that's it. He is a grown up after all.
That is shocking about the fiver Ziggy - I would be making sure that the whole world knows about it - name and shame the shop.
I'm tentatively hoping for an early ish finish tonight. I don't seem to have a list as long as my arm of things to do so I'm going to sneak off while I can. I'm sure plenty more stuff will land later in the week.

Hi everyone old & new! I am so sorry I've not been around much, it's been a total whirlwind here! My little man is now nearly 6 months old  and myself, OH and little man have moved into our new flat after securing our mortgage! Unfortunatly I'm back and hanging my head in shame, whilst I've not taken out any credit, which is a massive thing for me, I just can't seem to stop spending the money I do have on things that are not needed! So I'm back with my head in my hands and needing to get straight again as this month I will only be getting statutory maternity pay so I literally won't have the money to spend!

I've not done much money saving today as my little man needed a few new sleeping bags as he's so long his 0-6 month ones were lacking leg room, bless him! But tomorrow is a new day and I'm determined to be back on track!

I probably won't get on here until the evening times as LO keeps me on my toes most of the day! But tomorrow I will try and do these:

    - 1 load of washing, will need to tumble dry as in a flat, no outside washing space and running out of babies clothes! :rotfl:
    - No need for any heating as we are top floor flat and it's always nice and toasty here, we eve have to open the windows!
    - Make sure nothing is plugged in and left on without needing to be
    - Walk with LO to the doctors for an appointment
    - Need to buy a cheap version of "Vanish" from home bargains as LO has managed to get blackberry juice all over his clothes  I'm not holding out hope it will come out but I can wish!

I hope everyone is OK and all being very MSE :D

A bittersweet end to the day. Took missing kitty now home to the vets, she has gained weight already:), she is eating and drinking well but there is a lump still there:(
She will be going into the vets at the end of the week for an ultrasound and bloods, but tbh I wouldn't be surprised if something isn't ruminating in there as she is very gassy. Nearly gassed me and the vet out of the consulting room once the vet had started to feel round her abdomen:eek::eek::eek:
Poor thing just gets back home, enjoying her food and it's nil by mouth again at the end of the week.
But I remain hopeful and I'm so glad we acted on things straight away rather than waiting.
Managed to get my paperwork done only for more to appear.
Been efficient for a change and listed 3 items on ebay
Not really any housework done except for what I got done first thing:o

Hope everyone is having a good evening x
