Welcome back, Katy Annyou can make baby grows last a bit longer by cutting the feet off and then putting socks on him :) I also used to buy a mixture of 'posh' nappies and the value ones. The value ones would go on from when we woke up until after breakfast when we'd have a bath as it would be on for such a short while, the more efficient ones were saved for when they'd be on longer!

I've cheered up a little bit now.

I had to go to Mr S tonight to fill my prescription and they also do their reductions at 7.30pm but it's changed from since we moved and now everything gets reduced to 20p no matter how much it was to start off. I got a sandwich, a burger, a tray of potatoes and root veg and two of those ludicrously expensive Charley Bigh@m curries (original price £7.50 each  ) There was a bloke with one in his hand so I grabbed the other and he was humming and ahhhing about whether it would freeze okay and then put it back!!!! So I made my move

I've scanned a few books and divvied them out between two places depending on who was offering the most, I have another package to wrap from last night.

DS has done the washing up

Before returning my mums drill last night I moved the kitchen clock to be central (I'd just been using existing screws) and I've moved the chalk board to near the back door. I need to buy some screws with smaller heads though as mine are to big to go in the holes on the back of the chalk board. I wish there was a hardware shop near work but it's all food and coffee shops  nothing actually useful.

I got more bug spray from Mr S to rid the rose of caterpillars, think that will have to be the last spraying though as they advise not to use it once things are in flower because it will also harm bees :(

I got a bit spendy tonight as I bought a wipe clean tablecloth and a little dish to put used teabags on. I will eBay my vintage tablecloths just as soon as I iron them (so they'll be antiques by then :rotfl: ) The kettle and toaster I like are both 25% off but I resisted, I just *want* them, I don't *need* new ones. I toyed with the idea of a new microwave but mine still works, it's just a bit rusty inside so didn't buy that either.

Had a fantastic mid afternoon snack for free today, bacon sliders and the yummiest Mexican inspired salad.

    Nothing much else to report.

    Over and out :D

    Morning all :)
Hope Kitty is ok HK :(
Nice to see you back Katy Ann, glad all is well with you and your little one :)

My list for today as as follows:
HG fruit from freezer for breakfast instead of bought fruit :) (done)
    Dog walk Done x 2
Post office Posted 2 parcels, collected one (the other bed set I ordered - used 10% discount, ok for bedding now :))
Small shop needed, Lidls today I think (I find small shops buying things to go with what I already have more cost effective than big shops these days, I know this is probably different for people who work full time / have children at home). I will go armed with a list! Also Sainsburys as I couldn't get everything on my list from Lidls, Helped myself to a couple of wine boxes for ebay packing, and asked a lady about to put her old newspapers in the recycling bin if I could have them. Sadly it is the Daily Mail, but beggars can't be choosers :rotfl:
Chase ebay buyers re unpaid items - 3 at the moment :(2 have now paid, I have emailed the other buyer again to let them know that I will raise an unpaid case against the other one if they haven't either paid or messaged to agree to cancel the sale by Thursday
Some housework :(The night is young
Some gardening this afternoon :)Phew, got OH to help, emptied some of old compost out of big pots onto the potatoes to earth them up a bit more, mixed compost from bins with what was left in there, will top up with fresh bought compost - but not today! Will need to water front garden pots though!
Make scotch eggs for dinner with something called Lorne sausage that Campbells sent in my last meat pack. It looks like square sheets of sausage meat, so it should work (apologies to Scottish posters, I googled and gather it is a traditional Scottish food item). Worked fine, Scotch eggs were very nice, plenty left for other meals :D
Pick rhubarb, chop and freeze Not done
Pick salad leaves for dinner OH decided he wanted baked beans instead - I think he has had a bit of salad overload lately :rotfl: I used some in my lunchtime hummus sandwich though :)
Sold 3 more ebay items, including a pair of shoes that are too big, for which I got almost double what I paid for them (off another ebay seller) last year. Hope they like them!
    Listed 2 more ebay items
    Relisted another couple

OK, better get on, as the dog is asking to go out :)

Morning! That's a great idea about the baby grows! I've been selling a lot of my LO's clothes on and using the money to replace with bigger ones!

A quick check in from me whilst LO is asleep! We've got a doctors appointment at lunch time and then chilling out the rest of the day! My FIL is coming round to paint our spare room so we can get it ready for LO.

    - Load of washing on & in the dryer
    - NSD apart from household spends
    - quick tidy round of the house

Have a good day all! :)

Hi guys  we got back from our holiday yesterday about 7. Holiday was great, lovely place & hotel, weather was amazing (so cold now!) but I came down with a virus the last few days so that was hard!

Come back to a very mixed bag! The good:

dd was assessed at the (free) personality disorder unit and has been accept to long term psychological therapy :j She can start on Monday :T initially it will be group work 1 day a week, next stage will increase to additional 121 therapy. She has been advised she is looking at 3-4 years of work to get to recovery. Those of you who are old timers know I first started to think she had this disorder when she was 18 (after 5 long years of hellish times) and she turned 23 last year. So happy that she has been accepted :) we are lucky we live in an area that has a leading unit but waiting times are long so she is extremely lucky!

vegies in the garden are all happy, as are the worms, but veggies haven't progressed as much as I would have liked!

    The bad:

opened a letter this morning advising I am being sued for the car accident I had last year  phoned the insurers who advised they are aware and are defending the claim as they have already paid out over £2k but none the other party has put in a further claim! Thankfully though it seems it's all in hand

    to do today:

loads of washing, tidy up as currently house is a bit of a mess

nip to sm and pick up a few bits. Do meal plan as have so much stuff in the freezer!

get stuff ready for work/childminders tomorrow

contact dd about rearranging plans for the weekend as we are now going away Fri-Sun. Hopefully she will be understanding....

take madam to ballet - need to pick up some jay clothes to do a minor repair on her ballet shoes

That'll do! HK really happy to hear you found your cat! what a relief x

Morning everyone, hope all is well.

Katy Ann I saw a baby grows and vests in the sale yesterday in Tesco's, they had them in a basket selling as individuals so maybe your local Mr T will be doing the same? That grow so fast don't they? I had two growing at the same speed :)

    This is my list today:

    - Sold some more items on Ebay so have packaged them up ready for posting this morning
    - I will list some more items later - think I've got the Ebay bug now
    - Nip to Lidl and do weekly shop
    - Pass by Tesco's to purchase items I couldn't get in Lidl
    - Workout at home later for free
    - Complete some surveys
    - Keep dreaming about my June holiday. I told the hotel it was our 20th wedding anniversary and they've offered us a complimentary meal in their restaurant :T

Quick question for you Ebayers. What do you use to wrap up your parcels? Do you purchase the plastic envelope bags that you can get in the pound shop or something else? Looking at the most cost effective way.

Thank you, have a great day :)

Twins , I use whatever I have to hand, quite often the boxes the cat food sachets come in though you may want to look more professional :D

For soft things I turn a sturdy carrier bag inside out.

I left early to pick up some powdered soups on the way in for breakfast, I also brought in my YS sandwich for lunch and raspberries for mid morning.

I have sorted my missing payment with WBB, they were waiting for me to agree to scrap one with some damage and amend the payment.

I bought a sofa in the early hours of the morning  It was only #50 and is 30cm shorter than the current one which is what I wanted. I need to get mine photographed and on ebay and also organise someone to collect the new (to me) one which is local. It's a sort of heathery/plum colour which will now have to influence how I decorate that room but I did some searching on pinterest and I think it'll look fine.

I sort of sorted the ironing pile last night and have a bag to drop off to the ironing lady and the rest can just be hung up/put away.

I need to investigate the guttering of the garden store, I keep finding wads of leaves and clumps of moss on the floor, I'm not sure if it's because birds are trying to nest there, if they are I'll need to keep the cats from going out there. I think I might have spotted the blue tits back in the nest box in the front again, that is at least quite high and there is nothing for the cats to climb up to get to it.

I've just cashed out some money from Prolific and hope to do another WBB package tonight.

Hope everyone is having an okay day!

I am a business seller, and I use recycled packaging as much as possible, to keep costs (and therefore prices) down. I do buy some packaging, but in bulk from other ebay sellers (things like bubble wrap, parcel tape, plastic envelopes and pallet cling film) but make these go as far as possible by using stuff I can scrounge or otherwise get for free where possible. Our Sainsburys put out wine boxes, which, if you pick the right ones (16 cm deep or less) fit with the RM's size guide for a small parcel - I use quite a lot of these. Like FVD, I use boxes etc that household stuff comes in, overwrapped with black heavy duty cling film used for pallets. This stuff is fantastic, costs £6 or so a roll, but the rolls last for absolutely ages. Jiffy bags for some things, preferably recycled ones, but I do have to buy some new. Even old ice cream tubs are handy for some things, old newspapers for padding inside the boxes - not much gets thrown away, come to think of it!

This morning I posted a pair of shoes in a scrounged shoe box and a sugar shaker in a wine box - this afternoon I have to pack a bread board wrapped in bubble wrap and overwrapped with plastic off a parcel that I received, a letter rack which will go in a wine box which I will have to extend a bit, some napkin rings that will be bubble wrapped and fit into an ice cream tub and overwrapped, and some table napkins which will go into a plastic envelope.

Hope that gives you some ideas, any questions just ask, as according to our local post office I am the queen of packaging :rotfl::rotfl:

The main thing is that you pack the item well, so that it is protected and doesn't get damaged (I sell lots of china and glass). The packaging must be clean, but nobody has ever complained about it not being new. To be honest if they did, I would just tell them I am doing it for environmental reasons, which is partly true as I hate wasting anything!
