In the days (1950s) when the only brand of crisps was Smiths, plain with salt in a twist of blue waxy paper, I used to sprinkle vinegar in the bag.
In the 1960s, a school friend and I , while left home alone to get our own meal combined tinned minced beef with baked beans and two years later Heinz actually produced this combination for a while.
Two chances of missed patents.;)0 -
I just about remember crisps that came with the little blue bag of salt. I wonder how they did the bags.In the days (1950s) when the only brand of crisps was Smiths, plain with salt in a twist of blue waxy paper, I used to sprinkle vinegar in the bag.

Speaking of blue bags, does anyone remember the Reckitt's blue bags? My mother used to put a squeeze of the blue in with her whites when washing. She also added a drop to white icing when she made the Christmas cake. I've no idea what it was made from so goodness knows whether it was edible. :eek:0 -
Raspberries and (preferably dark) chocolate
Celery and marmite (really. I am not keen on either on their own, but combined in a sandwich - yum).I wanna be in the room where it happens0
