The best combination is: Anything I like + somebody cooking it for me.
It doesn't matter if they're a good cook or not - most people are poor cooks if we're honest .... a simple "I'll make that" - implying I turn up and just eat .... is the best combination of all. Burnt sausages!!??? NOM!! Pie with brittle/dry pastry??? Bring it on.... just make gravy ... yes, even that thick gloopy stuff you seem to like. Brussels boiled for 2 hours? Thank you for cooking for me

A thought popped into my head yesterday evening....why does soup taste so much better with bread?
After all, although delicious bread is a bland foodstuff. Whereas a decent soup is highly flavoured. The soup in question was spicy butternut squash, if it makes any difference
