Ok so I'm back in the land of the living. Back on plan today. Debating going to a class after work tonight.

Form is still nowhere near 100 % - literally had to force myself to get off the settee on Saturday.

Must just plough on and hopefully will feel better in time.

Have to say really really delighted about your news Topgirl!

FE - it sounds as though you really want to lose some weight now and you're sounding more like you are ready to tackle it. Definitely start to meal plan and get your bum in gear and get back on SW. Planning and shopping properly are the key to losing weight - as long as you stick to it.

From LL's experience over the last few weeks with WW I don't think I could survive - I like my food too much, LOL!

    Today's plan:

B - scrambled eggs with spinach on toast (HEB)
L - jacket potato; tuna mayo (0.5); salad
D - gammon steak; carrot mash with cannellini? beans (not sure if I've got any cannellini so may be haricot,LOL!); cabbage

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - LTL mayo

I agree about WW (that's in theory, of course, as I've never tried it myself). Although I don't snack much I do like large portions. I've lost my weight and maintained target by watching what I eat rather than how much. My plate is generally piled high but provided I have at least a third Speed it doesn't bother me at all.

Do you mash the beans into the carrots denise or just have them alongside? After my successful mixed mash last week, swede and carrot yesterday and the herby mash from the magazine I think it's quite a versatile dish.

FE, I think all you have to gain from WW (or should that be lose??) is that trying something new might motivate you to stay on plan. As you say, you know the SW plan well but it's not sticking to it that's your downfall. I honestly believe that I save time (and of course money:money:) by planning my meals. Writing the plan and list takes me no more than 10 minutes then I can whizz round the supermarket very quickly as I know exactly what I want. Then, through the week I don't need to think about what shall we have today and go and buy it, it's there ready.

Glad you had a controlled weekend kathrynha. Fingers crossed for a loss this week.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: cold chicken, fried veg (just one potato) and pickled cabbage
D: salmon, SW chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and mixed veg (babycorn, mange tout, broccoli)
    Syns: squirt of syrup (2?)

Maman - I haven't tried the mashed carrots with beans yet! I've got the idea from the current magazine. They crush the beans but I'm going to just stir them through after mashing the carrots. Can always mash them with a fork on the plate if think it will be better. It's just that I'm used to whole beans I suppose.

The only white beans I've got in the cupboard are butter beans so that's what we'll be having.

    Ninth Anniversary
    Hi everyone

I've given myself a virtual kick up the rear over the weekend and a jolly good talking to and I'm back on plan and feeling tons better about everything. Had a half hour session in my garage gym yesterday afternoon as well and worked out my frustrations on my cross trainer and rower :D

Congrats on your news Top Girl :j

Well done abbafan on getting to target :T

Late as usual :rotfl: For some reason I never seem to get the time to get online on a Sunday.

-2.1 for me for last week please Shala.

Quick question. I've been noticing grapenuts in meal plans on here and on other forums. What are they?

Congrats to all the losers :T

    Well done on the loss.

Grapenuts contain neither grapes or nuts and are found in the cereal aisle, normally near granola and oats.
They are a mixture of grains that are I believe cooked.
They look like small brown gravel, and are pretty hard. I find they are nicest if they have soaked for a while in yogurt or milk.

I like to use them as an alternative to oats when doing overnight oats, but I'm not being organised, because a short soaking in yogurt is enough rather than a full night.

I find they have a biscuity sort of flavour.

    Thanks all!

Shocked but happy Top Household here. Haven't told Top Boy yet as he goes away with his dad this week, so decided to wait til he's back.

Tired and awaiting a work risk assessment and a million things running through my mind about work and money and childcare and space but know it will all be worth it.

A much amended weekly planner this week, I've decided to have what I fancy when I fancy it (within reason) and have 2 HEXAs for calcium but leave the HEXBs unless I'm really hungry.

    Today's meal planner then:

B - Cheesy scrambled eggs (HEXA1) and tinned plum tomatoes

D - Heinz Vegetable Soup (10?) and a chargrilled chicken sandwich (HEXB)

    T - Spaghetti Bolognese

HEXA 2 will be a large glass of milk before bed. Probably won't measure it if I'm honest, I'm 'allowed' 300ml as it's orange top. Can't abide full fat milk, sadly.

I've had 4 Freddo Faces at about 4 syns too. We'll see how that open packet fares... :o:D

Going to make some of my favourite HM soup tonight - potato, bacon and leek, to save another Heinz debacle :) So should be able to pull things back this week...

    Taking Asda pregnancy multivitamins too.

Gosh, it's all a bit exciting and new. It's been 12 years since I did this!
