    Hi all
I'm doing the Hokey Cokey also (great phrase by the way) fell off the wagon last time when mum had to have an operation unexpectedly and was also trying to cope with uni work  but after going to my rugby club awards night and feeling utterly miserable and hugely fat in my marginally too small size 24 dress next to all the gorgeous WAG's I figured I should do something about it.
So I went back again last Monday. Unfortunately on the way home mum phoned to say dad was in hospital and it seems he had had a stroke which steered me straight into the chippy :( (previously I would have just got utterly drunk but as I've been teetotal now for 2 years this month chips just seemed a really good idea)
I started from scratch on Tuesday and I've been saintly this week. I bought the 100 days of extra easy book and I've cooked some absolutely amazing stuff- some with more success than others (the oriental salmon was amazing- never tasted anything so gorgeous in my life) I've also tried the M&S skinny burgers and sausages (lovely but just a wee bit too pricey for me) I've also done fruity chicken, smoked haddock kedgeree, salt and chilli Quorn (although that was a recipe I found on Facebook) and yesterday I cooked Oriental cod for my partner and he enjoyed it. We tried to make the mustard sausages and colcannon mash on Saturday but while the colcannon mash turned out wonderfully well OH decided just to turn my carefully crafted sausage mix into overcooked grey mush  I refused to eat it and made him eat it all :D don't think he will be doing that again :rotfl:
    Sundays food was
B: Lean bacon medallions, fried eggs with Frylight, mushrooms and tomatoes. Decaf tea with HEXA s/s and pint of NAS Vimto
L: 4 crackerbreads (4 syns) with lean ham and gherkins, 2 satsumas and a bag of Wotsits (4.5) pint of NAS cranberry juice
T: oriental cod, noodles and mixed salad, pint of NAS Vimto
Snack at cinema: 2 bags Walkers Sunbites popcorn (5 syns) HEXB 2 x HiFi Bars, bottle of sparkling water.
Supper: raspberries with fat free Natural Greek yoghurt.
    Syns: 13.5
    Night all xx

Hello, can I join you all please? I did briefly pop up on the last thread when there was a conversation about 'Kathryn's' ( I was one of the many!).

I joined a local group week before last having had a false start at a different one a month before and lost 4lbs at first weigh-in on Thursday. Feeling pretty motivated although had a cooked breakfast out yesterday with a friend & then my daughter (who is also doing SW) came in with crusty French bread & hot chicken. However, I didn't then have another meal in the evening, so over the course of the week it will balance out. I love the Pinch of Nom and Two Chubby Cubs blogs, some great recipes there. Also I'm stocking up my fridge with snacks like boiled eggs, seafood sticks etc for when I come home ravenous.

Currently in the last 4 weeks of a primary PGCE & things at home have been very stressful although should start to ease now. I know I'm putting my health at risk (48, 5'4" & virtually 17 stone), and although very lucky to have no problems at all, but know if I don't do something I most likely will do....

So, trying to be focused and keep motivated, and be able to feel more comfortable in the summer months.

As I've lost 4 already, can I put down for 10lbs for this challenge, and then that would take me to my first stone. Thanks!

    Welcome Squiggly!

Morning all, thanks very much Shala for wrapping up the old thread (glad to see the back of that one!) and starting this one. Put me down for a 10lb target please and that'll take me into the next stone bracket after bouncing about in this one for the last 12 months :o

Had a lovely weekend away, most of the synnage was in the form of sweet cocktails. Like I said before I went, although what I eat in the company of other people isn't SW-friendly, I don't over-eat, which is where my problems lie.

I saw some of these deli toppers jars in Iceland when picking up some SW meals, did a quick check and all are free apart from the red onion (0.5 per tbsp) so got a couple to try - Maman has been inspiring me to make the most of pickles, etc. as speed - perfect for me as they keep for ages unlike salad.

need to write a meal plan and get some shopping in now as the cupboards are bare. Also desperately need to do a bit of gardening, at least it's a bit of exercise! Enjoy the last of the weekend xx

Welcome back Squiggly. You've made a good start with a 4lb loss in your first week. Keep it up. As long as you stick to plan you will lose weight. You might want to post up your menu plans each day and there's usually someone around who can pick up if you've made any "bad" decisions with your food. Don't forget to use your syns - they are part of the plan and you really need to use them to the max. You won't lose more weight by not using them.

Tete - I make my own syn free red onion chutney rather than buying it. I eat some whenever I have salad and/or cold meats. Will need to make some more soon as only have about half a small jar left. Haven't tried any of the Baxter's ones. I think it was Shala who has used the Red Slaw in the past.

    Today's plan:

B - scrambled eggs with spinach on toast
L - sweet chilli prawn noodles - cucumber, tomato, peppers, artichoke heart (tinned so will have some left over to use up), chilli flakes, sweet chilli sauce (3 syns)
D - LO roast pork, boiled new potatoes, baked beans; strawberries, melon & grapes; quark

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB - bread
Syns - sweet chilli sauce 3

Have had too many syns since last WI so needing to rein it back in a bit between now and Thursday morning! Haven't added up yet but fairly certain I won't be able to have more than about 5 or 6 max a day from now until WI!

Enjoy the last of the long weekend if you are a worker. So glad I'm not any longer.

Good to see you posting. I take a meet it or beat it attitude to targets so if you can do your 9 and a half that's great and any more will be a bonus. Go for it!!! How much more to target! (if you don't mind me asking) :)

    Not at all maman.

I haven't set a target formally but mentally have set one at 5.5 stone (10 stone 3lbs) so a fair way to go yet lol!

You're right denise. It was the lovely shala who gave us the heads up. I've bought them when they were on offer at £1. They're quite sweet which might help people who don't like pickles too vinegary. I am a great advocate of pickles tete. I think they're a good way of getting plenty of extra Speed in the plan. This week I bought some jalapenos in Aldi. They're really hot but I enjoyed some with a JP and cottage cheese. I'm not sure if it's a regular line.

I reckon you'll have 2 stone (or less;)) to go when you get to the end of this challenge. You can do it!

Welcome squiggly. You've chosen good time to sort your weight out. If you're going to work from September you need to have a plan for your lunches and midweek meals to stop you resorting to snacking and take aways.

Good to see you again MrsR. I'm having salmon this week so I'll try the oriental recipe on your recommendation.

I'm going to sort my freezers out later. I'm generally pretty good at keeping an inventory but I think it might not be quite up to date. It may be sad but I'd rather do that than join a traffic jam.:D

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: cold chicken with fried potatoes and veg and pickles
D: savoury mince, new potatoes, cabbage, carrots, peas, cauli and broccoli
    Syns: squirt of syrup

I'm telling myself it isn't the weekend.;)

With it being a bank holiday I am very much feeling the need to be good today as I normally have 2 days to pull it together between the weekend and weigh in.

    Today's plan:
Breakfast - oops not up in time.
    Lunch - chicken and coleslaw
    Dinner - speedy chilli

    HA - milk and cheese
    HB - none :(
Syns - none (had too many yesterday)
    Zebras rock
