I've had no internet for most of this week so didn't get a chance to put in my target for the new challenge.

7 pound target for me please Shala.

    -1.1 for this week.
Haven't really been on plan so happy enough with that. Really need to get my butt in gear or I'll never fit into my swim suit for my holiday in October. I had trifle for breakfast yesterday! Don't know what's come over me lately.

Congrats to all the losers this week :T

Have had a good day today.Did the biggest grocery shop in the world today .when the kids got home they said it looked like Christmas :D.I carried around my food directory (hidden, since I had one stolen from a shopping trolley a few years ago icon_rolleyes.gif),and referred to it often.

    Breakfast: honeydew melon

    Lunch: cold pork,hard-boiled eggs,plum tomatoes,beetroot,mange tout,red pepper,carrots.
    Followed by a pear

For tea, what I had been going to have was some lamb with roast veg.But I went to bed to read a book about 6pm,and woke up at 8.30pm.I did actually start getting out veg to parboil then roast (cook in my oven in about 30 min),but then I realised how silly that was at that hour of night.Instead I googled for a recipe using spinach in a pasta. Was determined to eat more speed.I found this recipe:
    https://hurrythefoodup.com/easy-tomato-spinach-pasta/

I omitted basil (didn't have),used chilli flakes instead of red pepper flakes (not sure what they are, actually),and didn't add the cheese (syns).Apart from that,I followed the recipe to the letter :rotfl::rotfl:
So tea contained onion, garlic, tomato, spinach as speed. And it was nice.Didn't taste like it was "missing" anything, despite messing round with the recipe, though of course I don't really know what it should have tasted like.

    Snack: 2 Hi-fi bars (HEB)
HEA:milk (not alot of it,actually),used in cups of tea.

Weigh-in tomorrow evening. It will be interesting to see how I go,considering the 2 evening meals I had this weekend.

    Can anyone help?
When I was wandering around ASDA today,I was looking high and low for lamb shanks.Really had a hankering for lamb shank, probably in a mint sauce, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the fresh meat (didn't look in frozn).
I know ALDI?LIDL used to (maybe still does) have lamb shank for about 1.5 syns.IS that still available?Or how do people on here (maman?/joedenise?) do theirs?
    Thank you.

    Hi all

Sorry went a bit AWOL towards the end of the last challenge as life got in the way and I was up and down with my weigh ins.

Back on track as of today. So can you pop me down for 14lbs please Shala as I want to lose another stone and I go on holiday on the 5th which is right after this finishes so fantastic timing for me :D

Will go back and catch up with the thread when I get home from work.

Saver Upper - The ones I've used the last couple of times have been frozen in mint gravy ones, which is what I think Asda do for a few syns, although I've not bought any there. Most supermarkets do them but very variable in syns. I've heard lots of good reports about the Iceland large shanks which I think are 3 syns each. Mine came from Costco but were quite small.

I don't think you often see fresh shanks in SMs any more but need to go to a butchers to buy them. They are best slow cooked on a bed of vegetables.

Today will be a Green day:

    B - cheese omelette (HEA1)
L - couscous with roasted vegetables
    D - Egg, chips, beans & mushrooms; HEB1 bread

    HEA1 - cheese
    HEA2 - milk
    HEB1 - bread
    HEB2 - ? - not sure maybe some semi-dried apricots this evening

    Morning,

    Your fall sounds awful Tete!

I got stuck with a cold over the weekend and we have refurb works going on in work and my head is already banging.

Feeling particularly large today. Need to get on with it and get this weight off! Very irritable today, dear help anyone that asks me anything.

Wow, a few days off thread and you lot have been posting like crazy.

Well done Bubbs, Topgirl, Ruthy, Alwayshappy, Esmy, SquigglyDiddly, Abbafan and Whiplashy for your losses (and anyone else I have missed)

Hugs for Wizkid, Lois Lane, Matron midge, Tete, Gettingtheresometime and Tweets on not doing as well as you had hoped. I had that last week, and it's hard, but just need to keep going.

For me, it hasn't been a bad week. Managed to stay on plan Friday and Saturday.
Yesterday was not a good week, but I knew it wouldn't be, and I'm hopeful that I have been good enough the rest of the week to make up for it. Quick add up of weekly syns, and I should be fine.

However yesterday is over. Weigh in tomorrow evening, so determined to have 2 good on plan days.

    Todays plan:
    Breakfast - overnight oats
    Lunch - cheese salad
    Dinner - Chicken stir fry
    Snacks - Strawberries and Skips

    HA - milk and cheese
    HB - oats
Syns - salad dressing (0.5), Skips (4.5), Stir fry sauce (1)
    Zebras rock

    I wouldn't dare after reading that!:D

Saver-upper, I generally cook my lamb shanks from scratch. The ones we had yesterday were huge. I got them YS in Sainsbury's. Almost all the SMs do them ready made. The ones to avoid as high syn are Aldi (11), M&S (5) and Tesco Finest (9.5) although there's a cheaper Tesco one for 2 syns. Iceland is 3 and the Co-op is the lowest at just 1 syn.

My favourite recipe is to brown the shanks (I use my wok as it's easier) put to one side then fry off sliced leeks (I use frozen) then add stock (600ml), Worcestershire sauce (2 tbs) and thyme (tsp dried will do) and season. Add diced carrot and parsnip (3 of each?) then heat it all through and stir. I then transfer veg to casserole dish, put lamb on top. Large shanks take about 2.5 hours in a low oven with the last 30 mins without lid to brown them.

Thanks for the pasta recipe. How refreshing to see dried herbs being used. I love fresh basil but rarely have it available but I keep a good stock of herbs and spices.

I had rather too many red wine syns yesterday:( so I'm drinking loads of water today to compensate. It's going to be a mixed week as I'm out for a couple of meals.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: cold meat with fried veg and pickles
D: oriental salmon, SW chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, sugar snaps and baby corn
    Syns: squirt of syrup

Planning to make the salmon a bit more spicy than last time but there'll be extra Speed (onion and peppers) in the parcels.:)
