Mr Wiz can eat anything especially veg lol0 -
That's quite a list wiz! And that's without the fruit that you eat. I'd eat as much as you can of the Speed food you do like and forget about forcing yourself to eat things you can't stand. With the summer coming up (hopefully:)) then a bowl of soup followed by salad with lettuce, tomato and beetroot and some meat or fish and new potatoes would make a good meal. Does MrWiz eat SW food too?
Hi, mr Wiz can eat anything, he puts me to shame.
I don't think I could eat soup and a salad with meat or fish. Could I just have the salad and maybe have the soup later ?:D
Of the veg I like, which are really Speed ??0 -
Regarding veg. I don't like the taste, texture or even the smell of some veg. The only ones I can tolerate are.. carrots, and mashed with turnip. Peas ( garden, canned or dried ) mushrooms now and then. A little sweet corn.,beetroot and a few green beans, haricot beans.
I don't mind All veg in a soup like broth, but I can't eat them separate on my plate. I like pickled cauliflower, but not really cooked but I will try an odd sprig or two.i like tomatoes and lettuce , but just iceberg and little gem I also like celery but can't eat it on it's own now,.as I can't dip it in salt like I used to. I hate onions I don't ,like the texture in my mouth, however, I like the flavour.
I put onions and leeks in soups and blitz them.
I hate being a fussy eater, but there you go,at my age I can't change, I have tried.:):)
All of the veg in bold is Speed. I've included celery. I hardly ever eat it raw but I do add some chopped up to casseroles, soups and pasta sauces so you could try that.
Peas are only free but as they've got protein they are good for you. If you could try baby corn or corn on the cob (they're both Speed) instead of sweetcorn.
Then there's your strawberries and raspberries and the other fruits you like.
Be kind to yourself and eat the things you like. It's a good list.:A0 -
Congratulations on your loss, TakeItEazy. :j
Saver-upper - well done on being so strong for the all-you-can-eat meal. Not sure I'd have been so disciplined...particularly on resisting dessert! :T
Mrs_Ryan - hope you're feeling better today... You seem to be having a rough week healthwise...
Lois - hope you and hubby are feeling better soon, too.
Wiz - you seem to have an impressive list of veg that you eat, so I wouldn't beat yourself up over it too much. It certainly sounds like you eat more than the average person (I think that the UK average at the moment is about 4 portions a day...:o It's only us SWers in search of speed who try and pack in as many as possible!! ). For me, I like eating things in "different" ways - for example, I like making coleslaw but using brussels sprouts, carrots, spring onions and garlic mayonnaise - it tastes a bit different to regular coleslaw, but I like it that way. Similarly, I prefer cooked celery to raw (like maman) - I always put it into stews and casseroles. I also prefer spinach in curries (as opposed to cooked "normally" where I find it can go a bit slimy - but in the curry sauce its really nice). Spinach also makes a really nice pesto to have with pasta (if you google "spinach pesto" there are loads of recipes) - because its blitzed you don't get the texture issue, and if you use parmesan as a HExA and pinenuts as your HExB, its not too synful! I also don't really like dark leafy greens like savoy cabbage if they are just boiled/steamed, but my favourite stirfry is just savoy cabbage, red pepper and beansprouts (not a dish found on many mainstream menus, but really nice fried off with some garlic, chilli and a little soy sauce!).

Sunday's plans...
B: Aldi lighter granola with strawberries & blueberries (HExB) with Greek yoghurt & banana
L: Green salad (lettuce, Chinese leaf, cucumber & spring onion) with smoked salmon & a poached eggGoing a bit out on a limb here - picked up a microwaveable pouch of "Curried Lentils with Chickpeas, Rice & Spices" to try in Aldi (2½ syns) which I'm planning to eat with cod baked in the oven (maybe with some spices, or perhaps just a little lemon juice...will play it by ear!). Served with leeks and courgettes. Its either going to work well and be yummy
, or it'll be a total disaster  - watch this space!
HExA: tbc... (might be a cheese omelette for dinner...:rotfl:)

Thanks for the reassurances, piglet and Denise. The problem is, my scenic route involves taking wrong turns and getting lost so I don’t even enjoy the scenery!
Good result, TIE.
I cannot begin to imagine what it is like to lose a baby. My heart goes out to your colleague and to you, TIE.

Can you tell I’m ‘shopping from the freezer’? I know I’ve gone over syns a bit, but after the rest of this week, I’m quite happy.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Good luck with the play offs greentiger . Pleased to report that the Swans now have their destiny in their own hands.
DH is fine with having a snack in the pub tomorrow so he'll probably have a baguette or something and I'll stick with a JP. Beans is the safest and I'll make up for the lack of Speed at dinner time. So I've got the meat out to defrost and I'll prep it all in advance.
A win is probably too much to ask but hopefully we'll play well.:)0 -
After eating out last night (friday),and going to a dinner party tonight, both nights/meals I enjoyed,I am now looking forward to getting back to eating meals I have prepared, know what are in them, syns, etc.
There had been some confusion over arrangements with friends for a dinner party tonight. It is a bit complicated, but it is that old joke about "trying to organise a mum's night out,and realising the next date you are all free is in October 2034".I would have been quite happy for a night at home tonight, after going out last night (and I was thinking of the syns, and not exactly sure what was on the menu),but it was sort of a special occasion (even though the guests of honour ,in the end, couldn't make it :rotfl:-that is how much confusion there was in the planning!)
So it has been another evening of not really knowing the syns, but hoping I am doing the right-ish thing .
Menu today was:
Breakfast: watermelon,honeydew and mandarin
Lunch: bacon, eggs, baked beans, onion. Now I like fried onion, but is the first time I have ever had it for a fry-up/breakfasty meal. When I first heard it suggested (maybe on here, maybe by maman,)I thought it sounded like an odd thing for breakfast, and not really going with anything else on the plate.Tried it for lunch-absolutely lovely.Went wonderfully with all the other flavours on the plate.
Followed by a pear.
Tea:home=made thai green curry, filled with lots of speedy veg,but I am sure a gazillion-and-plenty syns.Served with boiled rice (free)
Desssert: about 5 mini coconut meringues(7.5 syns for the whole pkt,so probably 2 syns worth),2 mini cheesecakes, some mikado sticks (1/2 syn each)
Coffee with sugar (1 syn)
Didn't measure out milk allowance today, but haven't had enough cups of tea to use all allowance.
Didn't have HEX B
My plan for tomorrow (today!) is to do a meal-plan,and do that grocery shop I have been talking about all week.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Oh dear, I join the thread and then all of a sudden a week has passed.... Think the next three will be like at while I finish uni but then I'm free for the summer 🙂
Shala not sure if you spotted my original post, I'd like to put 10lbs for the challenge. Weighed in last Thursday and lost 2lbs which I was pleased with.
Still not as organised as I'd like to be with meal planning but my every moment the next 7 days will be consumed with getting uni assignment preparation etc finished ready for assessed interview (eek) but then it should ease up considerably. I bought some Mikados from Tesco yesterday as they're on offer, and have plenty of free yogurts, bananas, cereal bars which seem to be forming breakfast and lunches for now. I am not buying all the junk I usually do!
Poached egg & bacon for breakfast today, most likely with tomatoes. Turkey meatballs and rice for dinner but may eat it mid afternoon and then just something light tonight.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning all - not posted for a while, so I realised a new thread had been started, and it's already on page 24!
Hubby was working away in Peterborough for a few days last week, so I had a quiet week. Managed to lose 2.5lb in group yesterday, so only 1lb to go to my target. I hope I do it next week!
I tried to relax a bit more the past week and not think about my weight so much (I still stayed on plan though). Going to Buffet Island today as hubby is at work again and I'm not sweating over a hot cooker today
