Well, today was an epic fail! Not a great choice for lunch, so I had soup (lentil and ham) that came with a herb scone. I was quite happy with that. Then my friend, who really only gets out when I take her, wanted to go to Dobbies so she could use her tea vouchers! So we went and she bought a plant. Then she bought the giant scones – for my birthday (that was in March) as she’d missed it. I was late home and DH was going out to bowls early so he made us rolls and corned beef (and butter, naturally), as he knew I usually just had a snack if I was out at lunch time. So then I gave up and had a curly wurly. Oh well there is always tomorrow.

Hey ho, greentiger - that's the way it happens sometimes, isn't it?! The best laid plans, etc, etc. :p

Still, as you say, tomorrow is a new day, and you had a lovely time with your friend. She obviously had a great time and enjoyed her trip out with you, and to my mind friends and family are the most important thing.

But - even more importantly - you know that with SW, you can draw that line and hop back onto the wagon and deal with it. As long as we don't have a Dobbies scone every day, we'll be OK in the overall scheme of things...

Sometimes, we just have to enjoy the "scenic route"!! :rotfl:

Food-wise,hasn't been too bad a day, especially since we were going out to an all-you-can-eat restaurant for tea .

    Breakfaast:speedy fruit salad: watermelon,honeydew melon,mandarin

    Lunch: leftover roast pork,oxo potatoes,brocolli,butternut squash,parsnip,served with gravy(1.5 syns) and apple sauce (2/3rd of a syn :o)

Tea:as mentioned.all you can eat meal. And I was quite good.I wasn't interested in "pigging out" and ruining all my work so far.I was trying to make good choices without depriving myself.
I had potato dosa, followed by jerk chicken(skin removed) and boiled rice, then calamari (battered) with lemon juice and pepper, then piri piri chicken(skin removed) and boiled rice.No dessert.Diet pepsi to drink. No all-you-can-eat dessert,no sauces,no curries,no fried stuff,no fruit juices, and, did I mention, definitely no dessert :rotfl:.

Throughout the day have had most of my mlk allowance (cups of tea.And just rememberd a coffee I had at a customer's house-1 syn for sugar).
About to have some hi-fi bars for [STRIKE]dessert[/STRIKE] my HEB :D

    Hi all
Maman- WI is Monday for me.
Well I've fallen off the wagon big time today! I had to travel up to Leeds for my tutorial but I felt really ill all the way up. When I arrived I had to go to the walk in Centre with what I thought was a raging temperature due to a water infection but it turns out my temperature was actually fine although I did have an infection so was given some antibiotics.
I felt so sick earlier so hardly ate all day (although what I ate- two HiFi bars and some fruit) wasn't too bad. When I eventually got back to the hotel (via a mad dash round Primark as I had forgotten my pyjamas- again :D) I just ordered from the room service menu. I could have had a salad but no I went for the sandwich option with chips didn't I :D
Still, as my consultant always wisely says, you eat 21 meals across the space of a week. If the other 20 meals are good then 1 meal is not going to be the downfall of the whole week- and I shall be back on plan 100% tomorrow!
    Night all x

    +1lb

Not sure why though I didn't go swimming last week but that can't be the sole reason can it?

Greentiger - it sounds as though you had a lovely day out with your friend - life gets in the way sometimes but it's important your life doesn't completely revolve around SW. As we say in our group when people have days like that or holidays you're making memories which of course can't be taken away. So enjoy making memories during your SW journey.

Saver Upper - it's very difficult to find good SW food at all you can eat places so think you did quite well with your choices. I was invited to my grandson's birthday dinner at a Chinese all you can eat last night but I don't actually enjoy those all you can eat places so declined and said we'd go out for a birthday dinner with him near where we leave - problem is finding something he'll like! He's only 19 but eats a limited diet (I think partly because he suffers from Aspergers) so it'll probably be at a local pub where they do a nice carvery but also do more exciting things for others (I'm also happy with a carvery but do also like spicy food but tend to eat that at home where I know in advance how much spice it's got in it:cool:.

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up
    L - not certain but probably something & salad:D
D - HB braised steak & onions; mash. I always add mushrooms & peppers to the braised steak. May also do some cabbage on the side as I've got 3/4 of one left to use this week!

    HEA - milk
HEB - not sure probably bread or Ryvita
Syns - mayo instead of spread on bread or Ryvita; weekend wine:D

    Morning all

Feeling a bit out of sorts this morning and so is DH - we've both got 'funny' stomachs which has made me wonder if we've eaten something dodgy, can't think what though.

Well I studied my tracker for the last week and realised I hadn't been counting milk in tea but also discovered a recipe that I'd added cheese to twice by mistake so one cancelled out the other. I use a smidgeon of 1% milk in tea and only have 4 or 5 cups a day, it's not even enough to count as an HEA so I'm not bothered.

I'm going to put it down to the changeover and carry on, hopefully there will be some downward movement on the scales this week. Having said that, we're going to see our DS and his family tomorrow and staying overnight so no idea what we'll be eating.

I have even got to gagging when I begin to eat the veg you know I am not a veg eater, But, I will get going again.:rotfl::rotfl:

You can eat lots of veg in soup and if it's liquidised you don't even notice what you're eating. I love butternut squash and red pepper, cauliflower and horseradish, carrot and coriander, celery. I sometimes just buy a stewpack and cook the whole lot in stock then liquidise it - it's usually an unappetising shade of beige but very tasty! :D A bowl of vegetable soup before every meal also helps cut down on portions of rice/potatoes etc.

I'm going to make some minestrone soup for lunch but I don't liquidise that. It's quite simple - 2 rashers of bacon (fat removed and chopped) fried with a chopped onion, half a bag of frozen mixed veg, some short spaghetti, a tin of chopped tomatoes, Italian herbs and stock - bring to the boil and simmer until the spaghetti is soft.

Catch you all later, have a great weekend.

    Afternoon all,

Feeling a bit fed up today. DH worked late last night, came home with a curry (which I resisted) and then announced he'd have to go back to work til lunchtime today. He's just text to say they've not finished & he'll be there all day  We both work full time so our weekends are precious. Feeling cross & I have the munchies:

    Plan today is
B: 2 weetabix, banana, Milk & a dollop of FF yog. HExB and A
Elevenses: Leftover SW sweet potato chips.
Lunch: HM SW Coleslaw, Tuna, Salad
D: Not sure yet - need to resist the leftover curry
10lb to lose & keep off in 20204.5lb/10lb:rotfl:

    Stay strong ruthy.:)

Good advice about liquidising veg into soup lois. The other suggestion I'd make wiz is to have as many Green days as you can. That way all the fruit and veg you manage is a bonus and you can have 2 HEAs and 2 HEBs. You just need to keep your meat portion small for one of the HEBs.

I was out at lunchtime and went into Debenham's for a JP. The lovely young man in there made me a side salad in place of the guacamole that's on the menu. So only syns were in the mayo in the tuna mush and plenty of Speed.

We realised this morning that our away game tomorrow is on the tv which means a trip to the pub at lunchtime. I'm going to talk to DH and see if he's happy to have a snack and then we can have our dinner when we get home. The roasts there are mediocre (their idea of seasonal veg is peas and carrots).

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, fried egg, baked beans, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with tuna and salad
D: chicken 'kiev', SW chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus
    Syns: mayo, weekend wine:)

WizI'm confused! Can't work out what day you're doing tomorrow! Thought it might be a Red day but you've got cottage pie for Dinner which you can't have on Red. Or is it a Green day and you're having the meat as your 2nd HEB?

If it's an EE day then you can't have 2 HEAs!

    Denise

Hi sorry it's a green day I forgot to put B at the side of the cottage pie.

Regarding veg. I don't like the taste, texture or even the smell of some veg. The only ones I can tolerate are.. carrots, and mashed with turnip. Peas ( garden, canned or dried ) mushrooms now and then. A little sweet corn.,beetroot and a few green beans, haricot beans.
I don't mind All veg in a soup like broth, but I can't eat them separate on my plate. I like pickled cauliflower, but not really cooked but I will try an odd sprig or two.i like tomatoes and lettuce , but just iceberg and little gem I also like celery but can't eat it on it's own now,.as I can't dip it in salt like I used to. I hate onions I don't ,like the texture in my mouth, however, I like the flavour.
I put onions and leeks in soups and blitz them.
I hate being a fussy eater, but there you go,at my age I can't change, I have tried.:):)

That's quite a list wiz! And that's without the fruit that you eat. I'd eat as much as you can of the Speed food you do like and forget about forcing yourself to eat things you can't stand. With the summer coming up (hopefully:)) then a bowl of soup followed by salad with lettuce, tomato and beetroot and some meat or fish and new potatoes would make a good meal. Does MrWiz eat SW food too?
