Hi beanie, I hope you had a good day. I usually buy my shoes in Tillicoultry! I didn’t see any wee orange cars at all. We all had a fab day (fun in the sun wise). We arrived just after the safari park opened and left just before it closed! SW was it was not. And we got held up in traffic on way home so by the time we had dropped the kids off in 2 different towns then back to our village, cast our votes then home, it was 8.30,so cooking went ‘oot the windae’ and a takeaway bacon cheeseburger somehow found its way into my tum.
Thanks piglet, it was a tasty lunch yesterday, pity about today. And I’m out again tomorrow!
Ouch, Mrs_R, I hope your eye is feeling more comfortable.
Well done, lantanna, chocolateteddy, Denise, Missli, bubbs (congrats on SOTW) and piglet.
I hope your dinner wasn’t too chargrilled, maman.
Tomorrow’s menu should be
Breakfast: banana (no time for anything else as I have an early appointment some distance away)
Lunch: out again!
Dinner: today’s fish etc that I didn’t eat!
Snacks: as few as possibleSewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -

I think the free mandarins mean the whole, raw fruit like tangerines and clementines. All tinned fruit has syns but it's generally quite low especially in juice rather than syrup. You can have it as a HEB too.
We ate the dinner but it did have a rather smokey taste! :rotfl: Just got to try and clean the casserole dish.:(
I'm glad you had 'fun in the sun ' greentiger . Hopefully tomorrow you'll find some SW friendly food for lunch tomorrow. You did really well yesterday.0 -

Evening all
Well done to all the losers, some great results! :T
I often hear negative comments about SW's search engine and believed that WW's was better, particularly as it has a bar code reader, but I found some oddities that are puzzling and frustrating - like salmon fillets being more points when grilled...? And an unbranded lean, lamb leg steak being more than a Tesco lean lamb leg steak. In both cases it was 2 points, but it can make a big difference! I've definitely been more hungry so really hoping it will be worth it.
AlwaysHappy - only fresh fruit is free, if it has undergone any process at all it becomes Syns, which includes mashing, juicing, pureeing and cooking, so the best thing is to stick to peeling them yourself.
Bubbs and Piglet - Quark is often used in SW recipes as a replacement for cream but I've never found it very successful. I sometimes make a blue cheese dip which is lovely with veg crudit!s, apple slices or ryvita thins (Heb). To make it, finely chop a small onion (or half a large one), grate 60g Stilton (hea x 2) and mix with a pot of quark. It's good for buffets and taster sessions.
Yesterday's lunch was an experiment that worked well and would be good for SW including SP - I fried onion and chopped bacon together, added chopped mushrooms, roasted pepper (from a jar) and about a teaspoon of Schwartz Bombay potato mix and stir fried it. It would go well with rice but I ate it as it was and it was very tasty. (And low in points :j).
Weigh in day tomorrow and wine Syns tomorrow night.
Back in the morning, good night.

Successful day today- didn't succumb to the cake and gorgeous looking flapjacks in the staffroom. So much effort!
Breakfast and lunch was same yesterday.
Dinner: steak and roasted Mediterranean veg
pudding: fromage frais with almond extract and raspberries and strawberries
HeA: 250ml almond dark choc alpro
HeB: 2 mocha hifi bars
syns: 11.5 Kit kat chunky cookie dough
The only thing I'm unsure of is the almond extract. It's from tesco and in the same little bottles as food colouring and salted caramel flavouring etc. I can't find this on the app. It says colours/flavours/essence are syn free but not extract. So wan't sure on if the drop of that would be synned or not. But I only used a little so can't be more than 3.5 I had left anyway!0 -
Thats why I'm planning on going for my 4oth .
lantanna,I am Australian, and moved over here in 2000.Until it got too expensive with out ever-expanding family,we used to fly over there every 2 years to visit my famly/travel a bit.
One day in early 2007,my partner said to me "You're turning 40 later this year, aren't you? What do you think you would like for your birthday?"
I said that I thought a family holiday to Oz would be fantastic, maybe spend my actual birthday in a glass-bottom boat on the Great Barrier Reef (having flown into Sydney to visit family!).

Thanks for caring.unfortunately I switched to washing liquid a while back but it's biological so I'm trying that.
lois , it could be a commercial thing with the Tesco lamb or it might be that they have no way of knowing how much fat is in unbranded. I'm sure you'll use common sense and if it's 'all visible fat removed' then it'll be low points just like with SW. Good luck for the morning.
miss teach , a few drops of extract won't break the syn bank!0 -
Was the bread you had 4.5 Syns per slice? If so, you got it right!
LL
Hi Lois.According to the [STRIKE]bible[/STRIKE] food directory,a medium slice is 4 syn.
Oh,I am such a doofus (after 6 years at SW ).I mentioned last week that the food directory listed "Wholemeal bread,800g loaf:
- 1 medium slice 4 syns,
-1 thick slice 5 syns".
So here has been me thinking about the fact that there is some variation in thickness within a loaf of bread.Only now, while writing this post to Lois, have I realised it is talking about the 2 different thickness you can buy the loaves:med/thick.Not the variation within a loaf:rotfl::rotfl:.
Is it the weekend,yet?
Today's menu:
Breakfast:still haven't been shopping,so no bacon,but had eggs,fried potato (1/2 syn for spray)baked beans,baby plum tomatoes.Followed by a pear
Snack: coconut yoghurt (1/2 syn)
Snack: BBQ chicken.(was really pleased with myself here.Took children for swimming lessson. We went straight from school.Still haven't been shopping,so no snacks in the house. So took then to a Tesco Express where they each chose a snack. For myself, with the choice of anything in the shop,I chose a pkt of BBQ chicken pieces, which I really enjoyed.(1/2 syn)
Tea: roast pork with OXO potatoes, parsnips, butternut squash, brocolli, peas, carrots.
Gravy(Bisto),not sure of syns because daughter made it up.It was nice and thick, though.
Snack: Alpen light bar so far, will also have a HiFi bar (HEB)
HEA: skimmed milk in cups of tea.
Diet?What diet??

Hi everyone
Well I spent yesterday afternoon in eye casualtybut it's fine, the specialist nurse I saw said the scratch is teeny tiny and if I weren't already on antibiotic drops she wouldn't advise me to take them but because I'm on them she advised me to finish the course.
Did a bit of body magic- walked from the hospital back into town. Hit an unexpected problem on the way home though- my bus hit a van so had to wait half an hour in the wind for another! Was a bit fed up when I got home needless to say!
Yesterday's menu:
B: HEXB 2 HiFi bars, decaf tea with HEXA
L: Subway ham salad, no dressing and no olives so free, bottle of water
T: Oriental salmon, noodles and salad. 2 easy peelers, pint of NAS cranberry
S: Iceland Mini Vienna (3 syns) 2 bags Wotsits (9 syns) 2 pints of NAS Vimto.
Syns: 12
Body magic: 9,500 steps
