I really don't see what the problem is, but thank you for the responses.
Maybe your girlfriend will see what the problem is when you've told her what she needs to do and that she has no choice in the matter.
And when she then discovers that you're swapping out the brands she buys and replacing them with cheaper stuff but instead of being upfront about it, you're sneakily putting the cheap stuff in the branded boxes.
And that you're wondering what else you can get away with and how much money you can make in this way.

You really can't see what the problem is?

You are looking to steal money from your girlfriend by deceit.
    May spend - £291.40/£320.00
    June spend - £106.40/£320.00
  • Hi,

    yes, but not your money.

Maybe you should 'brand drop' your girlfriend to your own level.

There is no need to be rude.

You're looking to take money from your girlfriend - the same amount as she would spend on a normal shop that includes buying Birds Eye fish fingers and PG Tips (plus whatever other premium brands she usually buys) - and substitute cheaper items thereby saving money for yourself to pay off your debts.
And you are not being honest about doing that - you have admitted so in your first post.

If she agrees - and she will be a fool if she does agree - you will be cheating your girlfriend out of money.

Do you really find that acceptable behaviour towards someone who has invited you to share their home?

    Lol! :rotfl:

The is the most amusing thread I've read in a while!

I have met/dated some proper charmers over the years - Rob, you are certainly right up there!

I'm pretty certain this has to be a joke but if not, imagine Rob if your gf was doing this to you. Would you see the problem then?

I will continue to read this thread simply for entertainment value.

I would truly have needed to have lived alone a lot longer than six years to tolerate someone telling me how I was spending my money, especially when he's trying to use my cash to pay his debts!

I would say you couldn't make it up, however......:o

I moved into my gf's house, I offered to do the weekly grocery shopping for her. She has lived on her own for 6 years so knows how much an average shop will cost her.

I have told her that she needs to double that weekly food budget and give me the money and I will feed us.

Why is she paying for the food you will be eating?

Because I will be living with her.
  • I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt:

where will all the money you save go?
is the debt yours or hers?
    what do YOU pay for?

some might say the same things about me...i married a man who makes a very good living and i don't have to work (altho i DO work for him in his office sometimes).

    I am genuinely curious.
