Yes she knows all about it so do not worry.

She knows about the gambling debts but not about you trying to cheat her out of shopping money?

Are you gambling on her not finding out?

Rob - if you had simply come onto Old-Style and asked about 'good' swaps for dropping a brand, then you might have had some helpful advice.

However, your initial post makes it clear that you are, in effect, planning to steal from your girlfriend...you are taking her money, telling her it is for food, and then keeping some of the money for yourself...this is theft!

Many of us on this board have tried dropping a brand....but we make the decision for ourselves.....Give your girlfriend that option.

Do you contribute at all to the household finances? If not, the why should you have any say in which brands are bought?

You mention (on this thread and elsewhere) that you have a gambling addiction...and that your girlfriend is aware of this...well, why not be totally up front with her? If you need her help to pay off the debts then tell her this - rather than simply taking her money by deception.

It's not droll - it's called being honest and if you want this relationship to mature and last then you need to be honest.

Your plan is never going to work.

To do brand swapping using original boxes needs all adults in the household need to be on board (I know someone who does this for their kids).

Whats going to happen when you GF uses the last box, she will throw the box away and get the new box (still in cellophane/sealed) out of the cupboard. I think a grown adult will notice if they finish one box and the next one is already opened but full :rotfl:

Sorry TightRob, if you had simply asked for help in changing to unbranded food items you would have been supported and helped by the lovely people who inhabit this forum.

Instead you seem to be asking us to help you steal from your girlfriend and deceive her into paying out more money than she needs to so that you can pocket the extra money to pay your debts.

I think you have come to the wrong place. I don't quite know where the right place would be for you.By your comments you show that you are either having a laugh at our expense or you just don't get it.

Anyway my time is too precious to waste any more of it on this nonsense.

    Goodbye.

So your (reasonably well-paid, self-reliant) gf is allowing you to move into her house, knowing you have had gambling problems/debt, & you believe that she'll just give you cash (or worse, her card & PIN number!) to take over her weekly shop? :rotfl: Hmm, good luck with that if it isn't a load of codswallop. I suspect you might find yourself out on your ear if she finds out!

    Thank you for summarising.
It should be good once the momentum starts up.

Because I will be living with her.

....and that makes it worth it for her does it?

Out of interest - just what are you planning to contribute in lieu of taking HER money from her to pay YOUR debts?

    - Are you planning on doing all the housework - so she can put her feet up when she gets home?

    - Are you the world's Best in Bed since Casanova?

Exactly what are you planning to give her in exchange?

She earns good money and has been able to afford to live on her own for years - something that many many people can't do.

If you're single you don't have a choice, you make it sound like it's optional.
