My gf is dropping brands in the grocery shop. Whether she likes it or not

Options
I moved into my gf's house, I offered to do the weekly grocery shopping for her. She has lived on her own for 6 years so knows how much an average shop will cost her.

I have told her that she needs to double that weekly food budget and give me the money and I will feed us.

Goodbye the birds eye fish fingers that she likes for a quick tea on Mondays. Hello smart price ones put in the Birdseye box.

Goodbye pg tips. Hello basics bags in a tea caddy and the packaging carefully disposed of.

What else will I get away with? How much am I going To make each week??

Not only do you want her to pay your board, but you expect to make a tidy profit from it?

Wow, you sound like a real catch.

Nothing wrong in introducing your girlfriend to some money saving ways but the fact that you are trying to make money off her is disgusting.

    It's a wind up.

She earns good money and has been able to afford to live on her own for years - something that many many people can't do.

Money doesn't buy taste, nor the ability to judge character.

    Definitely a wind-up.

Buy smaller dinner plates and you can reduce portion sizes without her noticing and pocket the difference
  • What are you saving up for?
Could be fun if you fund a surprise holiday with the difference, it's a brave soul who switches his gf's teabags without a good backup plan for when she finds out:rotfl:

I'm not saving for anything specific - just saving for a rainy day.
