I'd probably use gift cards for itunes membership, but I've always avoided recurring payments because they are such a pain.

Sometimes its very difficult to avoid recurring payments because the retailer gives you no choice. I had this with Green Flag a few years ago. My car had a few problems and was in and out of the garage, but they coudn't find the issue. I bought a 1 year Green Flag policy and paid for the full year up front on my credit card.

A year later, and my credit card was much larger than expected. Turned out it was an annual recurring charge. I rang Green Flag as soon as I checked the statement, but as it was one of the first transactions for that month it meant that the cooling off period had passed, so they said I could not have a refund.

So I had a policy for a car that I no longer owned. A policy I was not going to renew and could actually never claim on (as I no longer owned the car). They said they had sent a letter out, but I did not receive it.

I did get my money back in the end but it was a hassle.

Currently got a similar issue with another annual policy. It did not give me a choice and in fact on this one I wasn't aware at all. If I pay for an annual policy up front I expect it to be a one off policy as I like to shop around each year. If there is a choice I always select that I don't want it to recur and failing that if there are any commet spaces I always write in that I don't want it to recur. And they want £35 to cancel it. I didn't ask for it in the first place.

    this is done, complete, over

there is no need for you to reply further here, there is nothing you can write that will improve my situation as its already sorted by page 2 of this thread.

if you'd read my posts you'd have read I've hopefully sorted issue .

If you'd read my posts in bold capitalised red you'd read about what my complaint is.

Either your deliberately responding with your made up assertions aka trolling or you genuinely don't understand. if its the latter, maybe move on and forget about this. if its the former then your really not helping anyone.

    @Devil,

yes this can be a pain, the FCA may be able to help you out, have you made contact with them?

Experian do this continuous payment lark.......makes it more difficult to cancel because you have to ring them up and listen to them trying to scare the pants off you.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

I never saw your reply but assume the mods thought it was suitably bad enough to delete.

I guess retailers see it's easy to take advantage of people with these continuous payments, and hope by the time people notice it's too late for them to stop it, especially when the payment is annual, it can be hard to spot / easy to miss if it's a relatively small amount or a figure similar to other normal payments.

Experian should be at least making it clearer this is how they operate as chances are proplevturn to them after suffering a problem with cpa's.

My reply advised you that i still work for the bank, you seemed to think i was fired or let go or something ? I said i thought your comments were a bit childish. Your comment was deleted too, i'll leave you to think about that.

If you've nothing of value to contribute then you could just not bother and just let others that do want to share their issues on this topic post their comments.

    Pots and kettles there.

The vast majority of relies have disagreed with you and pointed out your failings which you've refused to accept.

Little point in continuing the thread, just go through the process of teh complaints system and move on.
