E4 Now on freeview (boxes @ £35)

Does anyone know if you can get the full big brother stream, chanel 705 if you dont have the digital interactive service on your freeview box?

I bought this one:

Yesterday and get E4, E4+1 and Men and Motors fine, but i dont think i can get the 705 as i cant press the red button (

Can your freeview box display the digital teletext service? The red button on my remote and also on other remotes I've seen is also the text button. In fact, the BBC and C4 digital teletext services (ITV haven't started theirs yet) makes extensive use of the 4 coloured buttons, so if you don't have the coloured buttons you could, perhaps, argue that the box isn't fit for its purpose.

Steve, the "red button" on E4 is only shown on-screen and is only operational when BB isnt on E4 i.e. Friends or some other non BB show is on.

Sorry i hadnt checked this post in a couple of days!

Unfortunatly it doesnt have the digital teletext service, it has an EPG guide which tells you the time of the programs and a little bit of info, but no comparible digital teletext, in fact no 4xcoloured buttons at all :S

Guess my box isnt up to it!

Just to note, I couldnt find E4 on my Bush reciever until I checked the "search encrypted channels" box on the setup. E4 shows as an encrypted channel but can be viewed fine on freeview.

IVe got E4 and E4+1 ok i just cant get the magic 705 channel I can even scroll past it if i just scroll up the channels or type it in manually, but it doesnt work!!

We have sky and just tried to cancel package and was assured that we would get E4 as it is now part of freeview, even though we were cancelling £19.50 package and changing to £13.50 package. Today i was rather peeved to find that it was only showing a message to say to watch this channel please call......, anyway we have called and now have to upgrade to the £19.50 package again to watch it, quite a disgrace I think, considering it's now a freeview channel. Anyway we now are getting sky for half price for 3 months. What a palaver!!
