Got a freeview box, got E4, but can't watch BB live when I press red!! Why? I've done everything it says to do!!

Have you added all new channels? We had to do that even though we had E4 (Ch 14), the live feed thing is takes you to a different channel (39 ?) though the number showing on the box is still 14 IYSWIM. You also get E4+1 when you add new channels.

As reference the older 'On-digital' branded boxes which do not support the latest 'MHEG' of the newer boxes will not be able to press 'red' on E4 and be taken to the live feed. They will also have a problem trying to go direct to the feed on 705 as the onscreen message will appear after a few seconds telling them to watch via pressing 'red' on E4!! (Which they can't do!)

The way to get rid of the big brother 'eye' screen blocking the view on 705 is to either press 'exit' 'guide' or 'subtitles' on the remote depending on which ondigital box you have.

Hope that helps a few people out!

Old Ondigital boxes do have full accessto the live streaming of Big Brother via the interactive button on channel 14. The Big Brother live stream has had a few teeting problems which has been sorted out in some areas. Full details of problems here:

Ive got a Sony KD32DX150 integrated TV and I'm stumped as to how I can view the 705 channel.

Cant press the red button from E4 and cant remove the white screen that pops up. Only way I can see it is via the inscreen when the various menus are on which either cover most of the screen or is too small.

Tried retuning E4 and all channels a few times without any luck.

Anybody in the same situation who has solved it?

    Many thanks in advance.

Bob - Have a look at that digitalspy forum posted above. Quite a few people are having problems, and there are a fair few threads there discussing it.

There are a few people with problems with the red key

But it's worth pointing out that the red button is only supposed to work when E4 is showing something other than live big brother. If E4 is showing live feed then red isn't supposed to work

I am in a university halls of residence (City University in London) and I have big problems in getting any good signals on analogue let alone freeview (in which my set top box: Sagem ITD58 Set Top Box cannot find any channels). So, what is the best thing I can do to improve my chances of finding any channels. I read that a booster might help but there are so many about so I'm not sure which is best. When I scan for channels using the freeview box:

    Indoor:

    signal strength 55%
    signal quality 2%

    External:

    signal strength 35%
    signal quality 3%

    Can someone please help? Thanks

A booster will only help "boost" a signal, if you have as bad a signal as that it really won't help so don't waste your money.

Really they say they should be run with a good outside aerial however as I am obviously in a good catchment area I run one in the bedroom off a £5 inside aerial.

Do you have aerials run into the residence or are you using your own inside aerial?

Got an indoor aerial with the TV and there is an aerial with the Halls but that signal is even worse. I thought as much - doomed to poor quality:(

When you say you have an indoor aerial with the TV, do you mean the one that came with it?

If so try buying one for a fiver from a Tesco store and you can always take it back if it doesn't work. Usually come with a longer lead than the ones that come with the telly so you can move it around a bit more.
