It continues to be extremely busy here north o the wall...

However, this weekend I managed to get away for an overnight wild camp with the furrybum. It was great to get away, even if just for one night

Will try and pop back on this evening, if I get the chance

Just over a week since last post... it's just flown by :eek:

Been extremely busy with work and some personal stuff (positive things )

Wee furrybum has put the brakes on being dressed this weekend as she's came into season... poor wee soul is awfy clingy atm. Getting loads of cuddles n fussing when I'm home, well, more than she usually gets and she does get a lot, spoilt rotten she is

Waiting on a couple of survey sites to pay out, bank holiday weekend delaying payments I think... about £20 in process

Poor wee furrybum - did the rescue not neuter her before she was homed with you?

We allowed our dog one season and then she was neutered as I am worried about the risk of pyrometra.

She was in and starting coming out of a season when I fostered her at end of January / beginning of February and was told to wait at least 3 months after she'd finished before taking her to local vet with whom they have an account. Marking up on calendar from when she finished placed it at around end of May. She has gone into season again early or her seasons are more frequent than was first thought...
The rescue does cover the costs of her neutering. Vet has recommended bringing her in near end of August.

Other than being a wee bit clingy and occasional "spotting" from her rear end she is as active as usual. Just have to keep her on lead more when we're walking, which she's not happy about as she loves to run about. Only let her off when I am pretty sure there are no other dogs around.

Still planning on camping again this weekend with her, possibly heading up far north (if the glorious weather holds... )

Thanks for clarifying US. I guess the first year of seasons is always going to be hit and miss. I remember covering sofas and beds with towels which were then boil washed each night as my dog seemed to produce a lot of blood although maybe it wasn't. I remember her moping about and feeling down in the dumps - its a bit like women and their periods!!!

When my dog was booked in for neutering she was having a phantom pregnancy and producing milk so we rescheduled for the week after and still the same, they talked about medication to stop it but luckily on the 3rd go she had stopped producing milk and she was neutered.

Can I make a suggestion re the dog if she likes being offlead or a bit freedom, have a look at on ebay or amazon lunge lines. There used for horses but you can get them in 5metre/10/15/20 metre lengths etc There strong as an ox and your girl will have abit more freedom on walks. I used to use them with the huskies.
