  • Powershop Customer Service has always been 1st Class which is something I'll keep in mind if Top Shopper discounts become competitive again. I left on 31/12/2019 and have not only received my final bill but also a full refund of unused packs of over £400. In addition I was allowed access to the shop in January and was able to purchase Winter Shaker Packs in January. This meant I got a 30% discount off Baseline in December. However had I stayed my overall discount for January would have been less than 24% and lower than that going forward bringing my annual discount down towards the 21% promised by Top Shopper.
As Wholesale Gas prices have collapsed several suppliers offer tariffs the equivalent of 30% discount on Baseline. There is even a Powershop Lite tariff that beats Top Shopper now.
Like others before me I'll keep an eye on this thread and return when Top Shopper becomes more competitive.

A new special pack out today "Bottoms-up Special Pack".
Compared to recent special packs this has a uninspiring 20% discount for the equivalent of 4 days electricity.
  • So I got my refund on "all PowerPacks previously purchased with a discount of <14%"
and used it to buy the higher discount packs.

Customer services did all the work for me!

Here are the offerings for Feb 2020.
(for reference 2nd yr with Powershop, electric only, c.4kW annual usage)

    1 x Winter Shaker @ 38% discount (equivalent to 7 days power)
1 x Little Extra Pack @ 21.5% discount (equiv. to 3 days power)
    1 x Simple Saver @ 19.4% discount (equiv. to 4 days power)
2 x June Future Pack @ 14% discount (each pack providing the equiv. of 6 days power)

Overall very similar to the offering for January - at least the future pack discount has risen back to the normal 14% (though that is pretty derisory anyway).

    THIN & CRISPY SPECIAL PACK

New powerpack posted today - "Thin & Crispy".
One of the better ones with a 35% discount for the equivalent of 6 days electricity.
  • "Thin & Crispy" is 20% off for me.
  • "T&C" is only 20% for me also.
However, the good news is that I'm paying for it with the credit refund that I mentioned on 31st Jan.
So the original 14% or less saving has now become a 20% saving.
Customer services will tell you what discounts your current credit balance is made up of...... if you ask.

T&C 28% for me.. On my last month of my first year and beeting top shopper by about 30 quid.. As an e10 customer they still coming out on top for me.. But I'm I high user with limited options... Who uses timers to make. Most of the cheap rate (improved from 42%split last year to a 49% with smart devices and utilising timer on washing machine and tumble dryer) . So it done me well.. Given a quarterly winter bill was 800 squid with hydro so a total bill of under double that for the year I've not seen the likes of in years... Bulb is a close second tjis year on prices but no where near as fun as playing the powershop game.. And I'm. In credit enough I can't see me. Moving in the near future. Not for everyone but for exotic tariffs I think it could still be holding its own.

Peas in a Pod Special Pack

Another special pack out today - in my case "Peas in a Pod" has a 30% discount for the equivalent of 5 days electricity.

For me it's only 20% - do we know why some customers are seeing different discounts, or has this always been the case?
I'm a 12,000 kWh per annum living in North Yorkshire.....
