Here are the offerings for Jan 2020.
(for reference 2nd yr with Powershop, electric only, c.4kW annual usage)

    1 x Winter Shaker @ 38% discount (equivalent to 7 days power)
1 x New Year Special Pack @ 25% discount (equiv. to 3 days power)
1 x Little Extra Pack @ 21.5% discount (equiv. to 2 days power)
    1 x Simple Saver @ 19.4% discount (equiv. to 3 days power)
1 x June Future Pack @ 11.9% discount (equiv. to 6 days power)

Over the last couple of months the discounts being offered to me for the special packs have gotten distinctly better. In contrast, the new June future pack sets a new low in terms of discount at a miserly 11.9%.

Checking Which? Switch just now, Powershop come up as the fifth best deal - the best deal is with Neon Reef (who????) which is coming in £50 cheaper. The others are Symbio and Utility Point and they are only in the range of £4-£10 cheaper than Powershop. Hope to move soon so will stick with Powershop in the short term.

My symbio electricity only tariff is a lot more than £4 cheaper than powershops quoted top shopper rate. Of course it is difficult to truly compare as you don't really know what rate you can achieve by buying powerpacks .
  • One power pack was offered to me that no one else has reported that had a big discount was the
Xmas special pack Cost £28.28 Worth £43.51 at 35% discount representing 10 days power.

With the winter Shaker packs that gave me an overall discount of 30% off Baseline for December. Slightly better than the 29% discount off Baseline my new fixed tariff with People's energy offers.
  • I bought the Christmas Special pack on 23rd December.

    New special pack up today.
In my case the Snug Bug Special Pack has a 35% discount for the equivalent of 6 days electricity.
Definitely one of the better special packs of late.

Well today I made my second switch after leaving powershop today
Ditched symbio due to a worryingly excessive estimate of January's bill. Not just for me but for all customers it seems

    I've now joined Green.

    Still cheaper than powershop

Another special pack up today - "Blue Monday".
In my case, 30% discount for the equivalent of 4 days electricity.
(for reference 2nd yr with Powershop, electric only, c.4kW annual usage)
  • Hi Equites,
    Thanks for that.
I requested the refund of all purchases with a discount of less that 14%.
With the blue Monday at 20%, and the "Beat the rise" Powerpack, I decided it was time to dump the old ones and repurchase at a higher discount.
