Thanks Equites, Looks like you need just over 21% overall to achieve Top Shopper. If you avoided buying the Jumbo you must be well ahead on your recent purchases.0

Meanwhile im paying 12.41p per kWh and 15.5 p per day standing charge. It's a no brainer
When I joined Powershop rates were 10.8p per kWh and 16.6 standing charge for top shopper. Even baseline was only 13.5p kwh and 16.6 standing charge. Powershop are no longer competitive im afraid and they rely on dazzling customers with rare high discount powerpacks leaving customers believing they are saving money0 -

Absolutely agree. I wonder what proportion of people are fooled by these high discount but low value Special Packs? I would hope that PS customers have enough about them to see through this behaviour.0 -
Maybe for some but certainly not for me. Thanks to high discount special and future packs l'm paying till October. Electricity 13.33p per kw day rate. Gas 2.5p per kw
7.85p per kw night rate 15.29 per day electricity standing charge
11.42p per day gas standing charge0 -
There definitely seems to be a change in the marketing team at Powershop - and not really in a good way.
Today offered the "The Chocoholic Special pack".
Now normally you would just get one of these at a high discount. Not this time, I got offered three of them - but with varying discounts as follows....- 1 x 5 days worth power @ 20% discount
- 1 x 5 days worth power @ 14.1% discount
- 1 x 5 days worth power @ 12% discount
Instead of complicating things Powershop, just offer us one high discount powerpack with a decent number of days power.0 -
Just one Chocoholic pack offered to me at 20% discount of about 5days use.0

Baseline is now 18.438p kwh standing charge 23.079 per day
A 20% discount off rate means you're paying 14.758 p per kwh 12.41 p I'm paying
Even at 30% discount you're paying 12.908 with a much higher standing charge than I pay
These prices are based on the new baseline rate which you end up once the current deal your on finishes
I'm. Paying 7.5p a day less standing charge than I was on powershop tariff0 -
It almost doesn't matter what the Baseline Tariff is, it's what you end up paying after applying the various discounted Power Packs. When the Baseline Tariff is high and the discounts are poor - that's a bad deal.
I think the Powershop offer is becoming a bad deal these days.
I did think about returning for the winter months but I'm not sure that's going to be worth it given the high Baseline/low discount situation that looks likely going forward.0 -
But if the baseline falls it will make powershop competitive again. It's the hike in the baseline rate that has made all the difference. I used to buy all powerpacks with a discount of 20 percent or more. Now even 20 percent is too high a unit price. I will probably soon stop monitoring powershop prices. I like you had hoped to one day return to powershop but its not looking a viable option now. Once you are out of the loop so to say and stop purchasing packs it becomes evident how poor a deal you really are getting with powershop.0

I am somewhat confused by the fact that experienced forum members find Powershop so expensive and in fact back it up with evidence. My confusion arises from the fact that over the last 12 months (Aug 18 to July 19) my Powershop electricity cost has been £341. This is based on buying the special packs when they become available with only 2 future packs and no baseline packs purchased in this period.
I have obtained a couple of quotes based on my annual usage from the suppliers mentioned on here and they don't come anywhere close.
Am I missing something here?0
