Thanks so much peeps. Cherry, enjoy your break and tell all when you're back. Let me live vicariously through your holiday just like I have vicarious glamour from ssg!
OMG, well the hospital admin were ridiculously unhelpful so we made the service with 2 mins to spare. Half way through, DD announced that she was unwell so I had to take her out. She was sick. Turned out 4 vials of blood were taken, no advice given to eat. We fed her on the way home and she then went for a nap and was fully restored.
Today she picks up her hire car and starts packing. We never got to the cinema despite both committing to it.
Today I am taking a break from the nightmare client to meet my friend for lunch. She is still going through cancer treatment and I'm not convinced she's as good as she tries to make out. I have told her though that I don't want to hear that I look tired. I am tired and don't need a reminder. I still haven't sorted my mum's insurance. I don't have info on lock types, etc.
On Mse ish news, we got 2 numbers on Wednesday lottery so will have a free lucky dip on Saturday. Last night's dinner was from cupboard and fridge though I treated everyone to lunch yesterday. In part, it was to make sure DD had a proper meal. If I'd have dropped her home, she'd have insisted that I went on to work and I wouldn't have known what she was up to.
Today I am grateful for

Lunch yesterday was good, my friend was in good spirits and health matters are going well. She has booked to go to nz around Christmas for a family wedding which is a very positive sign, I think.
Yesterday was tough at the client. That is all.
Last night dd and I hit Asda homeware to ensure she had enough to crawl into after her journey. We were up at 5 to wave the two of them off, the dog sitting like the princess she is in the passenger seat, all harnessed in. I think she though that dd was heading off and was delighted to be going with her. They made the boat from Dublin but dd already extracted the dog from the horrible kennels and put her in the packed to the gills car. Not sure how that will have worked and we have radio silence currently so I'm hoping dd is having a nap. There's another hour of the journey left, then disembark then the road trip. I have armed her with sea salt and balsamic vinegar crisps.
I'm quite pleased that I held it together until we closed the front door. Then, to use a well worn chick lit phrase, collapsed in a sodden heap. DH made a cup of tea and we went back to bed.
Today I am grateful for
Stage one of the journey having completed safely
Being able to treat dd to nice bedding

So, I had written a long post on the iPad this am. DH nudged my arm, I accidentally touched the screen, moved to a different page and even when I used the back button, it had gone. I subsequently misplaced my book which I reckon is the universe' sway of telling me to stop sulking and repost.
DD and DD journeyed safely. The dog isn't settling into her new accommodation too well. Apparently she barks a lot when dd is at work which isn't great given that one of the housemates does shift work. DD is due home the 1st weekend in oct. If dog hasn't settled, she will bring her home and leave her here until Christmas. This will allow her to do her minimum 3 month tenancy and to look for somewhere that isn't shared to start in January.
Work is busy and a nightmare but it is what it is.
I did my course last week. The material and delivery was poor and I won't get my exam results until Halloween. In direct costs, travel and loss of working days, it cost close to £4k. I'm not happy but do I complain before or after the results?
On the plus side, being "down south" I was able to send stuff more cheaply to clients based there, I filled the fuel tank with cheaper diesel and there was less than £5 spent as course was all inclusive residential.
I also managed to sort out my mum's insurance saving more than £200 although £50 of that is cashback to come from the provider in 70 days. I think the insurance company is breaking new data protection law so will be raising that with them separately. They require you to opt out of automatic renewal and payment for next year's policy. I also went through the cute little meerkat site so will be getting something from that. It may be 2 for 1 movies that dd would make more use of than I.
We head off in 2 weeks from yesterday. A list is called for to finally get on top of things before we go though I acknowledge that laptop will be travelling with us.
Today I am grateful for
