Aaah the dog. I hope the dog settles.
Like you I picked up a few YS items yesterday. Two wild salmon fillets for 99p yesterday and a piece of sirloin steak for the same price.

I posted yesterday, lost the post and gave up in disgust at myself! Still up to my oxters with nightmare client to the detriment of other clients and of my cash flow. We slept in this morning so I will run DH into work than come back and tackle expenses and invoice. DD comes home on Sunday and all my grand plans to have a sorted out home have gone to hell in a handcart. I read some bad news here last night. There is so little certainty that all we can do is tackle the irritants so that if a crisis hits, there is less for us and our families to worry about.
Today I hear about my longshot submission. Please please please positive vibes.

So,no decision yet on submission. I just wish they would put me out of my misery and provide feedback that says I didn't make a prat of myself! Not an awful lot to ask is it?
Yesterday I got some matters progressed, today I am determined to get them finally put to bed. This includes july's expenses as my current account is heading into its buffer. I also need to feed that car but that goes on the credit card which is good as I'm now into a new billing cycle.
There are things I want to tackle at the nightmare client today. There are things I want to tackle at home this evening. I have been a sloth for far too long. Yesterday evening was the first in a long time that I actually got off the sofa after my soap slump and did something housework related. I also took my laptop off the arm of the sofa, put it on a table and worked quite efficiently. I am wasting far too much of my life. I'm also ingesting too much sugar so moving more has to be even a small positive.
Today I am grateful for
Light bulb moments as above. Please kick hard if you see me slipping.
Progress

I'm not convinced you were being lazy - what I see is someone working very hard in an uphill struggle, no wonder you need downtime.
That said, it sounds as though you've started to turn it round, well done and here's to a productive day today. xI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

You are so far from being a sloth.

Not sure what's been happening. Friday nightmare client's manager was a no show despite me specifically having gone in to see him as agreed. He doesn't take this time on sick leave or annual leave. It's wrong. Saturday DH dragged me out for breakfast and we offloaded 4 items to the nearby charity shop. We did a top up shop and got diesel, etc. we also visited a shop to look at the quality of hand towels for the bathroom. They weren't good and we resisted the sale items. We then had a fairly lazy Saturday.
Yesterday I went to an event a former client was having in Dublin where I also picked up dd. Due to the boxing, upcoming papal visit, flights were extortionate so she trained and boated to get home. It was a good time but I'm sore after the driving and had other uses for my time.
Still no word on my submission but one client has gone on holiday buying me a bit more time. Although she doesn't know it yet, dd will be doing a day for me this week to sort out admin, etc. I negotiated and have now booked and paid for a 3 day intensive residential course where I sit my needed exam on the final day. It's 2 weeks away and I'm already panicking when I should be studying!
A not at all Mse decision was taken on Saturday. I am going to up my monthly income from the business by £100 to £600 per month. I am going to engage a cleaning service to come in while we are away, do a deep clean then come back once a fortnight. I'm going to backdate this to then end of April which will help with the wedding present.
I did both an invoice and my expenses on Friday which was good. I'd really like to sort out my tax return before we go as I have NI to pay.
Yesterday in between picking up dd and going to event, we went to aldi. I'm !!!8364;80 poorer but got store cupboard stuff for less than it would cost up here where we don't have those shops.
Today I have my annual diabetic eyecheck up and then will go grab the dog this evening.
Today I am grateful for
Good exam results last week. Daughter of friend still going through cancer treatment covered herself in glory thereby avoiding maternal guilt.
DD's safe return - the news is filled with horror stories
Seeing the benefit in what I do. Yesterday's event was, in part, a success due to work I deliveredMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. On Sunday, dd couldn't figure out which milk was semi skimmed due to different labelling so none was purchased. Yesterday after eye exam, I nipped to a$da to get some and some bread. I also got 4 peppered burgers whoopsied to £2 and a stuffed pork fillet for £3, both were in the very good butchery dept. so, dd and I had pork with plenty left and DH had the burgers. Dd and I also totally scrubbed out the fridge, have grated apples to be turned into Apple and cinnamon loaves this evening and have prepped just about edible veg to be made into soup.
Eye exam went ok and outcome is provisionally positive but needs full review with a result in 3 weeks. I took a call from the nightmare client yesterday. When I asked where the manager was, I was told he had been in but had left the building in the morning and no one knew where he was. It's unbelievable. I am in there today and issued him with stuff that needs resolved. He doesn't read his emails except when on the premises so it'll be interesting to see if there's anything sorted when I get in. The thing is, these aren't optional extras.
Right, time to get a wiggle on. Today I am grateful for
DD (dear dog)'s safe return though it's much more obvious how she's slowing down
Nice and unexpected texts
