Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
Debt in July 2017 = £58,766 😱 DEBT FREE 31 OCTOBER 2017 :T 🎉
EMERGENCY FUND 1 = £50/£5,000. EMERGENCY FUND 2 = £10/£5,000.
CHRISTMAS SAVINGS = £0/£500. SEF = £1,400/£12,000 PREMIUM BONDS ME = £350. PREMIUM BONDS DH = £300.
HOLIDAY MONEY = £0 TIME LEFT TO PAY OFF MORTGAGE = 5 YEARS 1 MONTHS1 -
So, deadline day is here. DH and DD pitched in but there's still stuff to get done. It's a tiny bit cooler here which made for a slightly better night. Hopefully that'll help me get through the day.
Yesterday I went to the low paying job for a few hours in between dropping dh off and picking up to a work thing. I think I need to extract myself from there but it's a steady source of income so it's a big jump. I also started work on the application form due in this Friday.
Yesterday I spent money. I saw massive flower pots reduced to £12 each so bought two. This was in the shop that does the £5 voucher off a £25 spend on groceries. They also had butter on offer so I spent the £25 to get a voucher to be used in the next 10 days. It stocks quite basic lines but once dd goes away, £25 should more or less cover our weekly basics so it's good to get back into that system.
I signed up for and cashed in a swago yesterday on sb. That was 50 points for so little effort. I'm now 80% towards another payout and have £8 built up in pa. I need to check if my last pa payout has cleared circle. It seems to be taking so much longer.
Tomorrow I am supposed to be going to a public sector procurement event. It starts at half eight, is thirty miles away and I've been to a few and gotten nothing out of them. I think I will cancel as I have dublin on Thursday.
Yesterday we made a decision that does not sit comfortably with me. We are selling concert tickets to see a band that we both like. We can't justify the outlay and the time it'd take to go there plus the leave, etc. all very sensible but you sometimes wonder what you're working for.
Anyhow, time to get a wiggle on. Today I am grateful for

Shame about the concert tickets but sometimes the costs of the things that surround these can mount and it works out so expensive.

Well, all the good wishes worked. I got to the deadlines needed. Have the next batch needed today but there's less pressure without a meeting deadline. Over the past week, I have been chipping away at my living room. Yesterday I went into it and it was pretty much as it should be. Simple pleasures. It also prompted me to put a little time into the kitchen which is already starting to improve. Yesterday was an NSD despite the lure of the takeaway. Instead we ate from the fridge. Today however both bread and milk will be purchased.
Today I am grateful for
