I agree about the one day free. We all need at least one rest day a weekIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Today I realised that I create barriers to my own progress. I went to give the bathroom a deep clean.i didn't get all done that I hoped for but it's better than it was when I started. I need to stop putting off things because I want things to get to a perfect state. So, if the living room needs hoovered, I need to Hoover it not work out that I don't have time to get all dusting done, sofas cleaned etc before starting as otherwise things will go on the floor and will also need hoovered. I am just going to Hoover the floor. If I get the other stuff done, great. If not, there's still less mess than there was before I hoovered. I'm admitting this here as I need to remind myself of how messed up my thinking has become and I need to draw a line!Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. INOD I think we are all guilty of this.
I swear some days I get up with the plan to do so much and all I achieve is moving from my bed to the couch and watching 11 episodes of Grey's Anatomy.

Hi inod - I agree you should apply for the job - you have nothing to lose. Also would OH or DD be able to help you out on the invoicing and tax applications to get it all moving?
Re the housework - it sounds like you're in the perfectionism rut - perhaps read over the flylady website? - she's very good at putting housework perfectionism into perspective. But you've been carrying on decluttering the house out with your trips to charity shop etc so all going well there.
Have a relaxing day today.

We are completely on the same page INOD I just posted the following on my diary...
I have a photograph that brings me joy. It won a competition years ago and I contacted the organisation for a copy. I have had it stored for years waiting to frame it. I just put it in another frame. It is not perfect (and I had to trim the photo slightly). Aiming for perfect all the time is such a barrier to my progress. Now it is on display giving me joy after 5 years.Progress.
From now on I think we should consciously aim for good enough!

I'm guilty of wanting and failing to be perfect
. Often I find myself thinking that I don't have time to clean the bathroom 'properly' so I don't do it at all. From now on I shall try and clean the bathroom 'improperly' :rotfl:. Perfectionism really limits our thinking.

I'm glad you found the link helpful - always hard to judge if you've picked up the right tone with these things. I have been trying to take my own advice on it. Today I started couch to 5k! I've no need of weight loss, but I am not fit and since diagnosis I need something to make me feel physically tired, not just emotionally worn out.
You are so far from being a slattern, by the way. And your days sound exhausting to me. I think you are being exceptionally hard on yourself, INOD.0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37
