    Crumbs INOD, it all goes on in your neck of the woods, doesn't it? You really deserve another holiday to get over all that. I hope the visit to your mother is better than you anticipate. {{Hugs}}

  • I didn't go. DH had a dental appointment brought forward by half an hour so I picked him up from work and caught up with some calls while he was being seen. I will go today as otherwise it'll loom even larger and become more dread worthy.

Today I have a client meeting at one, a group meeting at two and lots of admin, scheduling, etc to fit in before that. I am so tired. Also, I need to get dishwasher on and laundry in this morning to get it out on the line this afternoon. Foodwise, things aren't great. Really need to knuckle down and start to eat more healthily. This will mean a reduced reliance on bread! Last night's dinner was bacon and mushroom sarnies. Still, it did make yesterday an NSD.
Right, need to get a wiggle on and create a list. It's my only chance of getting things done. I may listen to the lovely ken Bruce as I go. Today I am grateful for

  • So, Faffed about yesterday morning, went to a client yesterday afternoon then called in with mother. I really don't know why. She just could not be bothered but I did it. She mentioned that she hadn't heard from my overseas sis so I emailed to check things were ok. She has been calling at weekends but the phone isn't being answered yet my mum is there. She then asked if I call in at least once a week as she thinks my mum is lonely. Easy for her to say when she visits less than once a year. Apparently when she was home last, my mum commented that there were 2 of us who don't call enough. It happens to be the 2 who aren't retired. Amazing! I do feel guilty about not going more often but sometimes it's self preservation. I just can't cope with her constant put downs.

Anyhow, on other news, my now contracted client paid my first monthly payment yesterday. One down thirty five to go. I need to invoice for the second payment.
Today I am going to the low but prompt paying client and have a meeting with a potential prospect that I will nip out to see. I need a to do list. I'm not sure where a few things stand and I don't want to lose work but poor scheduling.
I spoke to an ex colleague who is applying for other jobs. The team I created is reducing with one leaving at the end of June and now he's looking out. I was so right to leave though I have struggled with that.

    Today I am grateful for
Being able to take charge of a client issue. Now it's mine, I can do something with it.

  • Yesterday was spent juggling 2 clients and today will be more of the same with the added complication of them being 30 miles apart. DH has come down with flu! It's not bad enough for him to work from home or call in sick but apparently, he'll need to just take the weekend to get over it. Odd that!

Yesterday I spent £4.50 in the bakery. This was a sausage roll consumed on way to meeting, baps to go with pork and apple burgers in the fridge, rolls that are everyone's lunch today and a reduced bag of scones one of which was my breakfast. It was so nice.
Today I have a 4.15 meeting at a new client which is close to a really good butcher / farm shop so money will be spent. Their stuff is excellent and since the cost of getting there will be covered by expenses, it makes sense to call in.
This weekend, I want to take stock, list all my clients, where each one stands and what needs done. I'm fed up fire fighting!

    Today I am grateful for
    Engagement from client staff
    New vouchers from sainsbugs
Being able to keep chipping away

  • Well, yesterday didn't pan out as expected. My ten o'clock meeting was moved to eleven and then started late. I was there until shortly after 2 and they bought me a chicken sand wins for lunch which was good. My next meeting was 35 miles away at quarter past four. I went there and filled my time doing grocery shopping and filling the hungry car. I was afraid if I went home in between, I'd get stuck in fri home time traffic.
The supermarket is supplied by a local butcher so I spent £20 on a meat pack that included an extra pound of fast fry steaks, £6.50 on sausages that are loved in this house and various other items, inc whoopsies to be frozen, that brought the bill to £54. The diesel was £50 on top. The £54 did not include any biscuits, chocolate, pop, crisps but a £1 pack of fruit chews did creep in.
Didn't get away from the client until half six and I'm not sure there'll be a fee in it.
Last night was spent in soap land. Today I will finish the unpacking and might even do some weeding as some things have burst into life while others are being strangled. Not good. The work stocktake also needs to happen. I kinda had a by ball for last week but have client expectations to meet over the next few weeks. Yesterday I also managed catch up calls with friends while on the road. That was good.

Oh, it looks like the police have got my attempted burglar. He is facing a string of offences inc running over and killing a mother of 2 while evading the police the week after the attempt here. I'm so thankful that dd didn't tackle him.

    Today I am grateful for
Bacon and reduced price mushroom sarnies on whoopsied bread for breakfast
    Good weather
    My house motivation remaining strong
