Happy birthday to your DH, and I hope you both enjoy the time away (and the washing gets brought in).

so, the break didn’t go quite as planned but it was still good to get away. The dawn chorus kicked off pre dawn at around 4 in the morning and that was after struggling to get to sleep in a strange bed but it remains my go to for gift voucher purchases for big occasions. That said, it’s starting to verge on looking a bit tired rather than gracefully aged. On the plus side, the bedrooms all have working gas fires, home made shortbread, etc.
between an excess of nice things at home inc cake, dinner and breakfast out and one takeaway, I was relieved to see that my weight hadn’t budged at all. This is a major plus. I have also slightly reactivated the decluttering gene and have prepped some stuff to go. For example, some stuff for junkyard craft will go when I meet a friend for coffee who works in a relevant setting. I find that I am quite good sorting through 80% of stuff but end up with random 20% bundles throughout the house that I struggle to tackle. Still, one area, the upper landing, is being tackled over the coming week. I am also going to keep an eye out for some storage solution to maximise space in a wardrobe shelf where my handbags quite messily inhabit. Today a tip and charity shop run is planned so I need to see if these can be maximised.
Today I am grateful for
