Hi everyone and thanks, as always, for popping in. So, what’s been happening? First off, mr wii confirmed enough of a loss to take me down a pound. That said, every time I weighin and see that I’ve been recording my weight for more than 4.5k days, I’m so annoyed with myself and how much of my life I’ve wasted being adversely impacted by my weight.
with regard to the dress Cherry, it’s currently awaiting pick up from the dry cleaners. I wore an alternative but not quite as comfy work dress. It also turns out I was sold a bit of a pup and the event was a weekly happening rather than a one off.Since I last posted Ernie was kind to the tune of £225 for me and £100 for dh. On the flip side, I’m still waiting on my tax refund which is more than my next vat payment that I dare not be late with. I tried emailing Rachel reeves but got a response to say she would only deal with constituency matters. I then tried the email address her response referenced but have discovered this is a general feedback account. I have now sent this to my local but abstentionist MP so watch this space.
i managed to make a sizeable for me contribution to my pension fund pre year end. I then watched it tank due to the orange one. Somehow I don’t think he and his friends were adversely impacted by falling share prices.
but now, for the really exciting news, there’s a new addition to the family. We have rehomed a 9 year old dog, disguised as a bear, whose owner now needs nursing home care. She’s been here a week and has a lovely nature. Her personality is starting to gradually emerge too. We had decided to go for another dog, didn’t want such an old one but upon hearing her story, we had to have her. She really is a joy and is getting dh out of the house again. We uploaded a photo to chat gpt who identified her as part border collie, German shepherd and flat haired retriever. Her previous owner got her from a shelter aged 1.
the downside is that she provides me with another excuse to procrastinate when I should be playing catch up. Speaking of which, I need to go tidy my hot press as all my bedding seems to have evaporated.
today I am grateful for

Yay for Mr Wii and Ernie, Grr for RR and the orange one. And the dog sounds like a delight, she will bring you more benefits than you 'lose' time to her.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

So very pleased to read you have a new addition to the family. Your dog is lucky to have found you and you are lucky to have found her.

Thanks everyone. Today I’m here to vent. So tomorrow the relative who was particularly ill last year is having a hopefully final and corrective surgery and yes I’m worried as I struggle with the two word combination of routine and surgery. I’ve also been spending increased time working from home and yes, standards have more crashed than slipped. Yesterday however I was with a friend who is nearly ten years older and we were asked if we were mother and daughter. I wasn’t the one being considered as the daughter, my friend was delighted.I know in the grand scheme of things it shouldn’t matter but it also came on the day that I got negative feedback on an opportunity I had submitted for. I’m severely in need of the application of a boot to the posterior.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. A very tense time, it feels as though it's harder waiting on a loved one's medical condition than our own in some ways. Once that is done, the load will lighten.
Work is almost bound to be affected while you are waiting. You'll pick up again when the pressure eases, but meanwhile be gentle on yourself. Perhaps the negative feedback is in some ways a positive, as it takes away a future pressure? There will be other opportunities, but perhaps they will come when you have less to cope with.
As for the mother and daughter comment - maybe a case of 'Should have gone to Specsavers'?I felt the 'insult' when French railways checked our ages and I hadn't yet reached the age where discounts applied, but they clearly thought I might!
