Well, handyman did return on Friday. He did a really good job on the gates and the metal garden furniture. I asked him to do window sills and he went off to get masonry paint - it must be an incredibly scarce item!DH did not get the job and we still await the health related news.On other news, I had a bit of a breakthrough with my counsellor. A complete lbm but have no clue how to progress. Still, at least it’s been recognised. I also shared this with dh along with another matter that I haven’t brought to my counsellor as I’m so ashamed. So here goes, I frequently struggle with sugar, am type 2 diabetic being treated with a cocktail of meds along with ozempic. DH knew that I don’t restrict my sugar intake as I should but yesterday I confessed to my secret sugar consumption upon which I probably spend about £20 per week.Looks like I’m still the really fat person who doesn’t want to be seen eating by anyone.
today I weighed in on the Wii. That shows that I have spent 11 years fixated on my weight while continuing my destructive ways. What a bl00dy waste of a life. Also I was up a pound which nudged me up a stone. Still, apparently confession is good for the soul, fingers crossed that’s true.On positive news, we stashed some builder’s money in pb so have passed into the fourth quarter of my target. Next will be to enter the fifth fifth.
need to do an airport run this morning then am out for Sunday lunch paid for with a soon to expire voucher.Today I am grateful for
the opportunity to use a voucher

Well done for acknowledging the issue and bringing it out into the open. It must’ve taken some courage to do that. Maybe now you can start to tackle it one step at a time. It won’t be easy but you can do it. Sending positive vibes your way.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Well done for acknowledging the issue, it's not easy and you aren't alone! However, might I suggest that whilst you may be heavier than you'd like to be, you are unlikely to be 'really fat' and even if you are, it doesn't make you a failure or a bad person. Perhaps it might be good to be a little kinder and more compassionate to yourself as a starting point."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". There is a certain power in putting things into words: I hope you can begin to find your way forward now you've got this far. I'd guess it's been a 'treat' and perhaps one of the reasons you kept it quiet, apart from how you felt others might feel, is that it was yours, and compensation for tough times. To have the strength to put it into words is quite amazing. Well done, and all power to you going forwards.
Commiserations to your DH for not landing the job. I hope all that means is he's free to take another, and he's now had the practice of the interview and got himself thinking in appropriate terms (not that he didn't know his stuff before but sometimes we take our skills for granted and don't have to sell them).
And here's hoping for good health news soon.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sorry to hear that DH didn't get the job but fingers crossed for the future.Like the others, I applaud you for acknowledging your sugar consumption. You are not the only one out there - i have been known frequently to get through a whole packet of biscuits or enormous bar of chocolate in one sitting whilst TV watching in the evening. Also, cheese, crisps and other fatty foods which have all contributed to me being morbidly obese according to all weight charts. How on earth I do not have type 2 diabetes must be down to genetics or some sort of good luck! So I know what it's like.
i know you read my own diary and are aware I'm currently taking the weight loss drug Mounjaro which has been a godsend for me over the past weeks and has resulted in a good continuing weight loss owing to the effect of appetite suppression, particularly for me on the snack type foods. This is part of my own personal journey and I'm not promoting it for anyone - unlike the financial products and shopping type hints and tricks we all share on this forum this is a drug that shouldn't be thought of or taken lightly. I'm not handing out any referral codes from my pharmacy. But - as you are already being prescribed ozempic by your GP my personal view is the following - ozempic doesn't appear to be doing its appetite suppression job with you so would it be worthwhile discussing another GLP-1 drug like Mounjaro with your GP? My sister's SIL is obese and has Type 2 diabetes and was prescribed ozempic but didn't get on with it and so her GP has now put her on Mounjaro. She is doing well now - is losing weight steadily and has had only minor side effects.I only shared the above view as you have already been prescribed GLP-1 - I've never been medically trained though. If you want to discuss anything though inod, please do PM me.XxxFinally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I agree mounjaro has been game changing for me when it comes to sweets and chocolate. If they don't prescribe it yet in your area give it time as it is coming. I pay for mine privately as don't have diabetes yet. Hopefully with this it will be a never.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
