Isn’t it odd that I now miss hearing the water drop in the kitchen.Well Monday didn’t go as planned as sniffles started so I called the surgery and jabs are postponed until fri afternoon by which time my blood test results should be through.Yesterday I took things easy switching the delivery of in person training to via teams but otherwise doing little. A client paid which is always good. Dh cooked dinner from recent purchases for him and from freezer for me.Today will be another lazy day as my head still feels stuffed by cotton wool. Tomorrow I have at least one teams meeting to do. Needless to say, the roof space clear out has ground to a halt.

Everyone I speak to currently seems to have some form of lurgy. Thankfully I was deemed well enough to be jabbed on Fri. I than met a friend for breakfast on Saturday. We worked out that this was our first meet up in seven years but both acknowledged that it was good that we were able to pick up the conversation.I’m not sure if I ever came right out and said but, particularly since covid, I’ve been avoiding engagement with people. I’m hoping that having had such a good meet up might spur me on. It’s not healthy to only exist in work or your own home. It also meant that I placed too much hope that concerts, shows, etc. would deliver something truly joyous and would feel down when they didn’t live up to my unreasonable expectations. On other news, I did bare minimums work and homewise but picked up a shred sack to get rid of confidential waste paper, did a charity shop drop off and have spoken to dh about food choices and that so long as we are sensible, we can afford the low carb food choices he prefers.
today we need to crack on with the roofspace and sorting out what emerges from there. I’d also like a bit of a meal plan and to get on top of the ironing.Today I am grateful for
emails from dd, 1 week down, nine to go
getting clothes on the line yesterday

I've been similar since covid, and am starting to make the effort to be a bit more sociable again.
You're doing really well with the sort out."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

Well done on meeting your friend. Tiny steps…..whilst you’re in the mood would it be worth arranging something with somebody else. Don’t leave it too long - as much harm can be done by not socialising as picking up germs when meeting others. I think there’s been a lot of harm done by the isolation people experienced during covid and are still experiencing by working at home. Covid has a lot to answer to…..January spends - £587.583

Beanie, I get what you are saying as you must do a fair bit of planning, etc. which diminishes the pleasure. For me, it’s an emotional thing rather than anything else. This ranges from rage with some friends who got full pay to do limited work from home and now have reduced childcare costs while dismissing things as being blown out of all proportion to just bog standard social anxiety that has grown exponentially over time and without relevant engagement. I wish I could claim to be germ phobic but for me the bigger concern is that I pass something onto a vulnerable person. I also think that having a fairly unsociable dh who spent most of his life in practice for lock down, doesn’t help. That said, one job for today is to arrange to meet a friend who knew I was struggling but would stay in touch with no pressure emails.Well, the bit I forgot to report from yesterday was that my weight remained the same. It’s still too close to the next stone for comfort but I’ll happily take it. Apart from that, no further work was done on the clear out but I got the ironing cleared bar the one sleeve I missed on one of my shirts. Then, prompted by me, dh worked through his wardrobe and identified 7 now too big items to go on vinted. Yesterday he felt the effects of his covid jab on Saturday so went for a lie down so nothing came from the roofspace. We currently have a number of items around the house that people are deciding if they want (all for free). It’s really starting to get to me so I’m considering a deadline.
the meal plan was drawn up for the start of the week and the freezer sort was more or less done. We have started our Christmas drawer with sprouts, breadcrumbs, cocktail sausage and an m&s whoopsied cheese starter. Some items will be delivered to my sister for consumption by her gks.
now I’m off to see if I can get my work structured as well. First task will be to pre authorise my vat payment.
