Happy New Year to all. Let’s hope that any resolutions made are achievable rather than a stick to beat us with. On that note, we haven’t done any actual planning. DS goes back tomorrow and DD is working away from Saturday for just over two weeks so that time will hopefully be used for planning purposes. Today they are meeting a friend for a hill walk - it’s surprisingly dry but bound to be so mucky after recent rain. While they are out, I need to get into work mode.

Hope you got what you wanted done whilst the family were out walking. It’s a great feeling when you can make a meal from fridge contents…..I managed a buffet style nibble for 3 of us from fridge contents last night whilst we had a games night too….plans had changed and it was a lovely relaxed day and evening for us 😁January spends - £587.584

Happy New Year inod and all good wishes to you and your family for 2024!😀👍
I've given up with formal lists of New Year resolutions as I rarely fulfil them. I'm just going to try to keep to a routine of achievable things as the months go on. My first is to keep up with my diary on this board without disappearing for months! I do find regularly writing my diary does keep me accountable on some things! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Many thanks for the ny wishes. It hasn’t gotten off to the most productive of starts due to various interruptions and intermittent focus from me. Today needs to be better but I am scheduled to pick a friend up from the airport later this morning. Maybe I should focus on something I can get done in the meantime.Today I am thinking of a grocery shop. I have £5 off a £25 spend to be used by today but only real needs are bread and milk.
on Saturday I have a funeral to attend then am dropping dd to Dublin airport to start her travels / overseas work. DH and I are then going for a dbb deal for Saturday night, funded by Christmas money. Unfortunately there is no contribution from ERNIE for either of us.

I struggle with the £5 off £25 sort of offers - if I felt I could do it without waste, I'd buy tins, dry goods, the sort of thing that can be in the cupboard a day or a year but will definitely be used. If that's not feasible, I just don't spend it - it's £20 in my bank not the supermarket's.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

A couple of times last year, I passed a money off coupon to the person behind me at the till when my shopping was less than the required spend. Their delight was worth it!What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?6

All good suggestions welcomed but, in the end, I didn’t shop. It’s a 3 mile each way journey, it has limited ranges and by virtue of a £25 spend, I’d have gotten another short dated voucher that I’d have felt compelled to spend. Also it’s not the cheapest. Yesterday some stuff was done but more is needed. That said, I slept really badly last night. Today I have a ten o’clock appointment so need to head shortly.Today I am grateful for
