During the afternoon, a delivery arrived. It was flowers from dh just because.  I was chuffed.  They aren’t what I’d have chosen but are so much nicer than I’d have chosen.

Aw, that's so lovely! Lucky you!

  • We kinda enjoyed the play.  It was so good but very thought provoking.  We’ve followed this person for years and always try to see him when he’s here but he generally is more delivering his own material than acting.  He’s now doing 2 weeks in London so I’ve just spoken to ds and recommended that he goes to see it.

yesterday, we /dh started working through his clothes.  There’s one suit to go to charity shop and 3 to go on vinted for one week and then to the charity shop if they don’t sell.  He “found” a suit that he didn’t know he had. With reduced office days, he has sufficient numbers to last.  We have still to go through dress shirts but have identified current clothing needs.

I also tried cleaning the oven door with a dishwasher tablet.  While it did work eventually, it wasn’t the quick and easy approach though maybe the glass on the door was particularly bad.  We also did a quick shop at Iceland as we had a £5 off a £25 spend thanks to our local store being refurbished.  So far, I’ve used 3 of the 4 weeks and have managed to get some Christmas stuff plus some tins of tuna, etc all on multi buys.

Mr wii advised that I’m up a pound but still on the same number. My bs were within range.  Today laundry needs tackled before DD’s return tomorrow as she will no doubt commandeer the washing machine.  I’m also meeting a friend for coffee.

    Today I am grateful for
finding a convenient free parking slot close to last night’s venue
finding a home for some unwanted items
a nice chat with ds yesterday

  • Yesterday’s plans went askew when my friend cancelled coffee.  We did get to Lidl to buy some items on offer on the app. Interestingly the discount wasn’t added to one item.  I’ve asked dh to follow up as it’s on his phone.  He probably won’t be bothered. I went to town to make use of the last date on a voucher which was £20 off an £80 spend.  At least £30 were things I would have spent on while the other stuff can count towards Christmas presents.  I managed to drop things to the charity shop inc two items added at the last minute, left some things to my sister’s house and by talking to a friend, have identified a home where plastic boxes can find a use.  I was also able to give a former Colleague a lift home from work.
Dinner was from the fridge and freezer and I took some stuff to defrost that will be for tonight and possibly tomorrow.  I am making stew which is one of my all time favourite meals.  This will be made in advance as I have a client meeting at six though hopefully it won’t last too long.
Right, work needs done before a half two phone call.  I still don’t know when dd gets back so could be interrupted with a request for a lift.  Given how dire our weather is, I wouldn’t leave her to find her own way.

    Today I am grateful for
a free parking space in town
    discounts
    chats with friends
