A busy but slightly productive few days have passed. Yesterday I did a 4.5 hour round trip for some client work. It took me from hot to even hotter working in an upstairs office with no air con. I’m not sure if it’s the heat or the driving but my feet have swollen and it’s uncomfortable. Today I’m at the hammer house of fun client as I need to get payroll dealt with. Hopefully it’ll be a cooler day. While I was at yesterday’s client, I was within reach of an Aldi - something we don’t have in NI so just over £60 was spent but this includes store cupboard stuff and fridge stuff with a long date. As I hear a bluebottle buzzing around, I’m regretting that I didn’t buy a fly zapper. Last week I spent £16 on a cooling mat for the dog. It appears to be working so the furry one remains in good spirits.I had a bit of a wardrobe crisis before visiting the client. I don’t know how but I appear to have lost a pair of trousers. That said while looking for them, I came across a premium branded pair with labels attached that were a mistake. I think they were bought because I fitted into them. They have now been passed to dh to be placed on the bay when he gets around to it. Anything gained will go towards the mortgage.Right best get going. Today I am grateful for

Hot office sounds awful. Hopefully things will cool down a bit now. Hopefully your trousers will sell quickly at a good price 👍January spends - £587.583

You’re assuming that they get listed. There’s a clatter of things to go on the bay. It’s dh’s account as I’d be afraid to open one. Also he has very good feedback. One of the issues is that he’s a perfectionist when it comes to photos so it takes forever to get things listed. The problem is some of the stuff would generate reasonable funds e.g. 2 with tags Kate spade handbags that were presents that I would never make use of, a bnwt Kenneth Cole suit that dh shrank out of before wearing and is afraid of growing back into if he keeps it plus various other bits and pieces. I have suggested vinted but despite feedback here,he’s decided is too high risk.
It’s infuriating not just for the money but also the stuff that continues to lie around the house.
yesterday I had to be on site pre eight o’clock and got out at 6. We are so short staffed it’s ridiculous although one colleague who was out sick phoned to say he’d been cleared for an earlier than expected return to work next week. That helps.Today I have a lot to get done but lack the motivation as I know it’ll be a long long day. Thankfully both yesterday and today were a lot cooler but yesterday was a really heavy day. Hopefully today will be a bit fresher. I suppose either way, I need to get motoring.

Vinted is good.

Since I was last here, I had a phone call with the diabetes consultant. He had started me on new meds that increase incrementally. They were due to have the final step up next Monday. However I was able to tell him about my sugars being in range so he’s happy to leave me on the middle dose. This is good because there’s still somewhere to go as the disease progresses as it inevitably will. The downside of this treatment is the almost frequent feeling of nausea - lots of ginger biscuits are being consumed. The next hurdle is to persuade my gp surgery to look at my electronic care record and keep me on the revised dose. That’ll be the battle for today.I took advantage of the wealthify offer that I read about here and invested £50. I’ve now got a new obsession- tracking performance. So far I’m about 90p up after two weeks. I now it’ll fall at some point but so far it’s doing better than last year’s pension pot performance that charged a management fee and then lost more than 5% of value. I need to have a better approach but am nervous as my income can fluctuate month to month. On other news, the furry one had her monthly vet visit for her pain meds and is still smiling and, items have been listed on the bay. Six listed and two have offers so somethings will leave the house. I just need to keep the pressure on as there are many others to go. I also have some books etc but I’m thinking of cs as being offered 27p for a recent hardback from resale sites doesn’t work for me. I cashed in £10 m&s voucher from sb yesterday as I had a swag up available so that’s £10 to go to the mortgage. I'm getting closer to that 1%. I’m also looking at my offset fund. I can make one withdrawal a year without loss of interest. When I opened the account, it earned more than the mortgage cost but that has recently changed. It’d take me down approximately 15% which, along with my 2% monthly commitment would bring me to 75% by year end. Plus my emergency fund would remain for emergencies. I truly believe that the only cost I have within my control is my mortgage so feel the need to hit it hard.
right, need to go earn those pennies. Today I am grateful for
advice given when I started self employment that meant I kept my savings pot open while dropping it to minimum monthly spend. As and when possible, I’ve upped this but probably wouldn’t have opened another account had I closed that one

Great news about not needing the med increase.
