How lovely to see you posting again, I was worried that Covid had wreaked havoc on your health and finances. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?6

Thank you all for the welcome back messages - the only difference between you lot and the furry one is her wagging tale.
Satchmo in some ways you are totally on the money regarding health. While I have so far managed to miss covid, dealing with it has completely messed up my mind. For the first year, as I ended up in a frontline role, all I could deal with was going to the client, and then coming home. I catastrophised a lot. I’m not that much further forward. We wasted considerable amounts of money when I couldn’t face going to things for which tickets had been purchased. Ironically, we went to our first concert two weeks ago and four days later dh tested positive.
I’ve had other health problems creep in and lack of direct access to a gp has meant that I do nothing about these. Tbh, I’m a complete mess and yet so many people, inc here, are dealing with so much more, that I feel ashamed to even feel like this. 2 weeks ago, I submitted a complaint to my gp surgery. I got a response on Monday. Apparently this is the first complaint they have received about their covid informed arrangements. These include no direct access without invitation, no sight of prescriptions that are issued directly to a pharmacy, a callback telephone consultation where no indicative time can be provided and where only one attempt at contact will be made and, if an emergency prescription is required, there is a 30 minute window when it should be collected. My own view is there are no other complaints as they insist upon these being in writing. Anyhow like I said in an earlier post, I just needed to pull on my big girl pants (sloggis bought on sale on prime day) and get on with it.On other news, an OP of £310 was made to the mortgage yesterday. We are on our way to our first 1%. I’ve also remembered that I’ve a scratch card with £10 of winnings on it so that’s another £10 to go. The card was a gift so completely free tome money. I’m doing the sb team challenge and would be hopeful of getting a swag up. If I do, I cash in for a £5 PayPal credit so that will be aimed at the mortgage.Right, need to get a move on. When I hear about other GP surgeries, I realise how lucky I am. I'm happy to have phone appointments, but whenever I've needed an in person appointment, I've not had any trouble getting one. My prescriptions are always sent directly to the pharmacy though and they text me when they are ready, so that suits me.
Well done on the overpayment"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Your GP does seem to make it hard for people, especially the only one call back. It's just not logical - people have a thousand and one reasons for not answering the phone, including the illness or disability that prompted their setting up the phone call.
I seem to recall that every written complaint represents some much larger number of discontented people, so they should be grateful for hearing your feedback.
Nice to see a chunk of overpayment going on! Of course from now every other 1% of the balance will be a little smaller till the day it's gone completely, so keep up the good work!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
