Keep doing what you are doing and the weight will follow. I'm impressed with your sugar free days, and this is something I should try as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Derailed my sugar free day yesterday by eating a candy but didn’t let that give me the excuse not to get back on the wagon. I did have second portions of dinner as I was hungry. Just shows how much I normally fill up on junk.
yesterday was a weird day where I just wasn’t able to settle to much despite there being lots to do. I need to do better today but I’m just tired and fed up. This should have been a London weekend that I wimped out of. The travel and associated mask wearing is off putting especially given recent reports of chaos at our local airport. I need to just move on.
should be working in Dublin tomorrow, need to make a call re that shortly. Anyhow, hope everyone is well. Today I am grateful for
DH making enough dinner to allow for seconds
a possible joint assignment

I can't blame you not wanting to travel, though I've had a couple of expeditions recently due to social commitments and it's a weird feeling discovering the city is still there.
So far my tests are all coming back clear - I think it's wise to keep an eye on local trends though as it can change so quickly.
There's also a big variation in how different establishments are reacting: the restaurant we went to last night had the door open all the time but no QR code to scan. Church is separating households, requiring masks, signing everyone in and using large fans near the doors to pull air through. Work is requiring masks and all the usual handwashing plus three tests a week. Some places, though, are scarily 'back to normal' so I avoid those if I can - but it's easy to forget once you're back in a 'normal' setting.
Well done on getting back on that wagon! I too have too many top-up snacks so I'm trying to eat a decent portion of a well-balanced main meal to help me not to eat too much elsewhere.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I can’t say I blame you for not travelling to London. I did go to a local theatre but it felt very strange…..I reasoned that the audience majority was…..let’s say…..of an older age….so most would have been double vaccinated and the theatre mainly caters for local folk. I’m still a bit wary of heading to the big city or shopping mall a few miles away where people from all over travel to.Seconds of your meal sounds good…..much better than snacking 👍January spends - £587.586

I do so much better without sugar emotionally and physically but it is hard so I applaud your attempts.

OMG, can’t believe that I’ve abandoned my diary for more than a month. Thank you all for visiting. I continue to lurk around diaries but I think that’s cos I’m more inclined to nosey than to put pen to virtual paper. How is it that other lives appear so much more interesting and less of a moan than mine?
So, what’s been happening? I won £25 on premium bonds of which ds got his usual ten percent.
I have two new small clients which shows me that there is a market for what I do.
I have been invited to bid for a 3 year contract but think it’s a non starter. They have specified that the methodology should not exceed 10 pages, I would take less than 4.
I got a 1 year contract expanded to 3 but it’s only for 3 days a year.
I have twice eaten in, with clients but still, it is progress.
my family including the four legged fiend are as healthy as they can be.
I spent just over £30 each on a new pillow for me and dh and it is the best investment ever.
I continue to be permanently worn out dealing with my charities but have given notice that this will not be continuing over or after Christmas. Realisation has finally dawned on the Trustees. I’m now in a panic about loss of income but that is my insecurity to manage.
I spend most days feeling low, inadequate and guilty for feeling this way when I am in a much better position than so many. I am hoping that reducing work pressures will help with this but worry that I may be trying to fix the wrong broken thing in my life. I have a track record of this.
my weight continues to remain static plus or minus a pound but not getting into the twelves. I’m afraid to check my blood sugars, my hospital appointment cancelled and hasn’t rescheduled but I did my one sugar free day a week in September and the aim for October is every Tuesday and Thursday. The big news is I am at my target of being able to clear my mortgage plus £10k.
however, due to a ridiculously low interest rate, I have won more on premium bonds this year than I have been charged interest on my mortgage and I’m able to charge a small amount of the mortgage interest to my business. While I would love to be mortgage free, I wonder if I should settle for being mortgage neutral. The offspring had advised that they would be home for a weekend in October but this may no longer happen due to convoluted travel arrangements.Oh, we won £5 and a lucky dip on last night’s lottery. I didn’t know it was possible to win a fiver but I’ll happily take that.Nothing further has been done on the bathroom. We have boxed up all the books from the bedroom in advance of decorating it. Sugar soap has been purchased.
we have been prettifying the garden with stuff that has languished in the garage for various periods of time. There has also been money spent on plants etc to make use of previously derelict pots. The furry one does not like that we have placed solar powered lights that enable us to see her attempts to disappear through the hedge. This has all happened due to us having the garden service visit every fortnight.Anyhow, as always, there’s lots to day. Today I intend to make a big batch of french onion soup with the onions bought last week as part of herr l’s super six. As dh continues working from home, it’s a handy and warming lunch.
today I am grateful for
