There are lots of good things happening here! It's lovely to read. Huge congratulations on the mortgage.
I'm so pleased to hear you have given notice to the charity, are you leaving completely or stepping back a bit? This has been an awful drain on your time and wellbeing for such a long time. You are rightly worried about loss of income, but hopefully this will free you up to find other more satisfying work."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Mortgage neutral sounds just the thing.
I think you have absolutly the right thing about the charity & I think it has been a very long time coming. I am so pleased you have at last put yourself first. Wow, such a lot has happened! Firstly well done on the mortgage - I see what you mean about using the business allowance and becoming mortgage neutral but I'm not the one to advise. Whichever you decide though, it's clear your paying it of has, well, paid off. Great position to be in.
I'm so relieved you are shrugging off the charity. You put so much in, gave them every chance but if others don't pull their weight you can't drag them along forever. Please try to let go of the guilt: I think the charity has been harder on you than you know and some of the low feelings may well be exhaustion and long-term being worn down. There are other opportunities out there as you're seeing.
Also don't forget your work with the charity will have helped a lot of people. It's hard to step back but sometimes it has to happen and that can't take away from all you've contributed over years.

Mortgage neutral is fab. Well done you. But even better is your news about prioritising yourself with work. No point in paying off the mortgage and falling unwell due to stress. Glad the dog is well too.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I’m also happy to hear you have given a Christmas deadline to the charity. Pity they have left you struggling for so long.
It sounds as if dd has things to look forward to 👍
Well done on getting the garden into a nicer place for you to enjoy.
Exciting times for you and mortgage neutral too 👏👏👏January spends - £587.583 -
How’s this for good news? Arrangements have been agreed for on call and expressions of interest have been sought with a closing date of Friday. If this goes ahead, it’d make a massive difference as I could turn my phone off at night. It’ll cost both charities as both have been getting the service free of charge from me but that has gone on so much longer than it should have.Last night I completely crashed and headed to bed at 9.30. Overseas sis then called so an hour later the phone went down. I have a meeting starting at 6.30 tonight which means it won’t be an early finish on the first of my two sugar free days. Yesterday I had a chocolate craving mid afternoon with none in sight so I ate an apple that I had bought. It wasn’t chocolate but it stopped me eating anything else which is good. Right, I need to get the day underway.
