Can you help him? It might be something he wants to do? needs to do?
I know I am an old softie but I wouldn't want to hurt his feelings.....
But I am not in a relationship and never had anyone who wanted to decorate my room aside from my Dad when I was a kid, so take what I say with a pinch of salt!Nevertheless she persisted.4 -
It's a tricky one and I admit I don't really have an answer. It does sound as though it's your consideration for his feelings that's standing in the way, and maybe that's the right priority, but if you could really do with his help on your business, then you could ask if he's enjoying doing the room because you don't want to stop his enjoyment but you were hoping he could help you even though it would involve getting someone in to finish the bedroom for him...
(That's a record long sentence, even for me. Sorry.)
Another consideration might be the availability of a professional decorator. Round here it's difficult to get people to do smaller jobs.
Well done for the weight loss.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Bit the bullet. Went into room with him and with a complete lack of tact, pointed out the issues to which he was oblivious. Explained what I could earn after tax for a day of his time and we are now looking for someone.Had to go on site late yesterday. Managed to scrape the car off a wall. Am gutted but it’s a car and no one was hurt. Right, got to get going.
today I am grateful for
dh actually taking a lazy day, that I could see he needed but that he generally resists.

Sorry about the car. Good decision re the decorating 👍January spends - £587.586

Yes sorry to hear about your car although I think you made a good decision to be a bit blunt with DH about the decorating. Sometimes one has all the best intentions in the world re DIY, but can keep putting it off for lack of time, enthusiasm, etc. Getting a pro in who will do it in half the time sounds sensible.

Well done on having that conversation with DH. Sorry to hear about the car though."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5

I have just had my weekly conversation with mr wii. It showed a 2 lb weightloss but moved the figure down three pounds. I’ve updated my sig in the hope that it’ll keep me focused. Am just glad of the buffer between where I am and 13. I have to credit honey bear’s towards a sugar free future thread as I am now up to 2 days a week.To be honest, that has been the highlight of another particularly poor week. When taking the car to the body shop for assessment, the flat tyre light came on. I have run flats and it was less than a mile but it meant having to sort that it after I picked the car up. I will be carless from mon to wed this week. As I have had no volunteers for the on call, I’m not sure how that is going to pan out.We have a suspected covid case in one of the sites. This is someone I constantly nagged about wearing a face mask who thought it didn’t apply to him. The numbers in NI are increasing yet our muppet politicians are pushing ahead with relaxations to the extent that the medics are publicly criticising the decisions. Clearly the decision makers aren’t doing front line delivery. On the money front, there’s little to report this close to month end. Car costs aren’t good (I managed to scrape the door, the wing and the rear bumper) but the money is there for the repair. We have each benefitted from the £100 high street voucher. DH spent his on last week’s vet bill. We have sourced a painter to come on Thursday so hopefully my voucher will go to prettify the newly decorated bedroom before we move back in.Need to get going as have just been informed that I need to source cover for this evening’s night shift as someone is unwell.

Glad to read of your weight loss - better than mine! I think I'll give up!Sorry to hear about the car costs though it's good that you have the funds already in place. I hope the bedroom redecoration is going well - it's lovely to have a newly painted fresh room. 😃Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
