The trustees have a job to do - it’s not just a label they can put on CVs. Hope things work out for you.

I'm sorry to hear work is tough.  Can you step away from some parts - don't take on any extra?  As long as you are keeping it afloat there's no motivation for them to change.  I hope something can be resolved.  You have a responsibility to yourself as well as the clients.

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • I agree with all of you about the work and the trustees plus it is costing me money as I can get more lucrative but less regular income elsewhere. Today I am meeting a surveyor at one site as I believe it may not be viable to fully repair.  If that is the case, then it will close. The trustees are using this lack of certainty to avoid hiring in help for me.
Yesterday I managed to escape at 7.15. Today’s emails started before eight.

I have recruited two extra workers who are part time which should minimise reliance on an unreliable agency.  This is good.

On other news, I had a phone call with another client yesterday who wants to commission an extra two days work in the next few weeks. DH will be called upon to assist but he has lots of leave available in his day job.  This will bring our Christmas target closer.

I have lots to do, especially housework wise.  My cleaning lady has yet to return and even though we just had 3 hours a fortnight, I miss it. Overseas visitors are due here this day next week so panic will soon kick in.  This typically will lead to the creation of lots of lists, doing things that I forgot to put on the lists and then getting annoyed that nothing is being stroked off.
you’d think that knowing that would mean I could stop repeating it.

    right, need to get motoring.

    today I am grateful for

Loving the hour glass idea. I’m so much better when I think of life in short chunks ( I’m not opposed to short hunks either 😉)
It does indeed renew faith in human nature when you hear of others giving back to help others.
Hope you get all you need to get done, done 👍
