Yesterday one site hit crisis point so I closed to any new residents. If we can’t get a resolution this could adversely impact on funding. Trustees are meeting tonight at seven but not all are available. I’m beyond being tired of it all and how unreasonable some staff can be. One even told me that the church group who own the building won’t let it close. This person seems to believe that we exist to provide her with employment on her terms rather than to provide a service.Today I am meeting a former colleague and her baby for the first time. He is close to a year but thanks to lockdown has been unexposed to people in general. This is in the next hour and then I’ll be on site until the trustee meeting finishes. I’m tired of it all.I need to get motoring to find something to wear for this hot but overcast weather, to take me through to around 9 this evening.

From the sound of it you've gone above and beyond to keep the place running and wouldn't have limited new admissions without very good reason. I can't see that the owners of the building would be able to override things like health and safety, and I suppose staff/client ratios are a matter of your organisation's policy, not that of the landlords. I expect the rest of the team is fed up with the staff who like things their own way, not just you.
I hope the meeting tonight is useful (can they pull a three-line whip on intransigent staff?) and you can get some fresh air somewhere along the line. Muggy weather is tiring enough without work situations.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It’s the weekend. Work continues to be an issue but I managed a full day off site yesterday and am hoping for more of the same today. I’d love to report that I got heaps done yesterday but I only managed some shopping and dh turned that into a meal plan that includes a few freezer items. We eat far too little veg. I find it more easily consumed in winter via soup. I went to the sparks foodhall and spent £23 of cash which added to whoopsied, deals and vouchers got me a £55 haul. I was happy with that.My meeting on Thursday was a bit of a waste of time. Those who could attend don’t want to take difficult decisions. There is another meeting in the diary for 20th that they plan to use to schedule a longer meeting to decide the future. They are beyond clueless. They did however decide that the recruitment could be split so that I could do it, isn’t that nice! Recruiting people who may need to be paid off imminently.Right, onto good news. I had my weekly conversation with mr wii and am down 1lb. This puts me within a stone of where I was when I first attended a slimming club in 1988. Why have I wasted so much of my life letting my weight inhibit me? Equally why have I wasted so much of my life spending on stuff that is long gone or sitting here making me feel like it’s crowding in on me. Despite having made some inroads with the mortgage, I still owe £10k more than the original 1990 purchase price. I know that I had to buy ex husband out but still, so much consumer debt was added in over the years.
I need to make a difference to at least one part of this house today so need to get started.
today I am grateful for

Well done on your weight loss, day off and lucky dip! Three positives, and all due to your choices.
Like you, I find it comes naturally to see what I haven't managed to do instead of what I've achieved. People say 'Oh, but you've done such a lot!' and all I can focus on is what still remains to be done. It's all very well people saying 'You've done the important stuff' when I don't feel I've covered everything. However, I can see you've gone above and beyond for this organisation and it must be endlessly frustrating when the board are a lot of chocolate teapots, especially when they have the cheek to pass the work on to you.
Are you in a position to use agency staff at all? In my sector there are some brilliant and very experienced people on agency books and once you have established a relationship with them you may be able to get consistency in who comes to work for you.
Did you get your other day off yesterday?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
