Well, my week fairly evaporated. Work was manic with me being on site until half seven on Tuesday. Was just asleep when an issue arose so I ended up on site from then until 8 on Wednesday morning. Tried to sleep but constant interruptions particularly regarding insurance which the broker hadn’t thought to mention was about to expire.Yesterday I did an on site day in full and went to bed at a normal hour so hopefully that’s my sleeping pattern getting close to sorted. It has meant other things got juggled so there’s lots to be done over the weekend.
today I am on chef taxi duty and am not quite sure what else other than sourcing someone to break into a safe where the lock has slipped. Unfortunately this contains the server key so access is quite pressing.Need to get moving but today I am grateful for

That sounds like a terribly full-on week. I hope you can have a break from the evenings but of course that's going to be staff-dependent. I think you said the trustees haven't clicked that there is a time lapse between authorising adverts for staff and actually getting people in post and up to speed.
Ours has got easier as a full time person is back from long-term sick leave, though they are still calling on support from elsewhere.
Well done on your winnings.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The windfall sounds very welcome. Work sounds manic - as usual. I don’t know how you do it.

Another week evaporated running between sites though I got a full at home day yesterday with little being done by me except tidying the kitchen. I always feel better starting the week with the kitchen sorted and my week’s underwear in its drawer.I have just read in a local on line newspaper that our staff are going to be eligible for a £500 covid bonus which is great. I know that others such as retail also kept things going but as a charity, we have no facility for such things as awarding a bonus without a direct funding allocation. I’ve no idea how it’ll be administered yet but hopefully it’ll be straightforward.
on other news, both offspring have birthdays this month that are falling too close to our Christmas 🎄 for the bits of randomness to be accrued. There was an experience gift I was considering but it was more than I would typically spend. We decided to use a portion of our windfall to fund it and used DH’s laptop that had no relevant cookies so got a ten percent off offer. Even though it can’t be used until next feb, they are both so excited and have something to look forward to.I did my weekly weigh in yesterday and am done by about a quarter of a pound. I happily take any weight loss but continue to be annoyed that I’m still too close to the obese category while being grateful to be overweight. This evening, a former colleague and I are meeting to put the world to rights. I’m nervous about the venue but trust her judgment. Apart from our afternoon tea a few weeks ago, it’s my first eating out since pre lockdown. I need to get motoring as there’s stacks to be done.
today I am grateful for
good news for staff though recognise it’ll prompt so many questions I can’t answer

A well deserved bonus for the staff. 👏👏
Good to have something to look forward to even if it isn’t until next February 👍January spends - £587.583 -
I met my colleague for dinner. For some weird reason, the original venue was closed with no indication as to why. We were spoilt for choice for eateries and opted for one that was cool, shady and where we were the only ones eating inside although outside tables were well occupied. That worked for me as the covid internal capacity was 59. Food was ok but side salad came dripping in oil which is a pet peeve of mine. Dh had minted lamb ribs which was great as he knows that I don’t like the smell of lamb cooking. After dinner I stopped at a supermarket to pick up supplies for a client and did well on offers and reductions for me. DH’s lunch will be tasty and nutritious and cost under a pound. It’ll also break the monotony of 16 months of home lunches as it’s something he hasn’t tried before in that combination.Today there is lots going on so I need to get going. I’m hoping for a quiet night this evening as the combination of heat and high pollen levels isn’t good.
