And another resignation received yesterday. I now have 5 gaps each week from 7 night shifts. The trustees have been advised but appear to believe that my magic wand will sort things. It’s all out of fire power. We have agreed a major recruitment drive but it won’t conclude by the time the notice period is up. I’m really not sure the second site is viable.
today I am meeting a former client plus an on line meeting with a former colleague. I found out yesterday that I’m needed at a preliminary industrial tribunal hearing next Thursday and I have to go for drive thru blood tests on the same day. This is the day when we are due to have Christmas dinner with the offspring who are due back on Wednesday. We have so much to get done this weekend to rescue ds’s room from bomb site status.

Work sounds a bit of a mare...
It's amazing how some people can't seem to see what's happening in front of them. Can you amalgamate the two staff teams in order to keep one site running? Or perhaps someone who is leaving would consider relief hours? Though I'm guessing that's not an option.
Next Thursday is going to be busy. Would they allow you to attend virtually, thus reducing the risk to all and saving you travel time? Or is your blood test in the same area so no time saved? And wouldn't it be nice if they paid you double time, seeing as it's Christmas?
If necessary, clear the bed in your DS's room and let him sort the rest. If he's like my DS who spends his spare time in there, he can clear it more himself, and if he's the out and about visiting everyone type, he won't see it. Just stick a favourite treat on the pillow to show you've thought of him.

Thanks for all the input. Virtual attendance isn’t an option which is ridiculous. Re my son’s bed, that’d be my approach if it wasn’t all our stuff dumped in the room.
also each of the two sites are gender specific so merging services would be more trouble than it’s worth.
was on site fri and sat nights covering gaps until night shift kicked in. Have just had my weekly weigh in and am back in obese having gained less than a pound. So annoying but my own fault.Yesterday we did a run to makro and managed to pick up some whoopsied items of things I needed and things I will use. The ham has been purchased and the turkey crown is on order to be collected on Wednesday in preparation for thurday’s Christmas dinner.Today I noticed that a clothing item that I swear by is back in stock and I can get an extra £10 back as a £co bonus. I have been waiting for months. I will buy two plus will spend another £12 to avoid paying £5 postage. This will not be wasted money as they are well made functional clothes that both of us wear through choice until they completely die.
right, need to go and make a list.

Well by the time I got my purse etc, desired item was once again out of stock making yesterday an nsd. Not too much was done yesterday but some items identified to go to the recycling. Today dh has his second jab so we will drop things off en route. Unfortunately today is the day that the gardener is due so the required discussion may not happen but the vaccine is more important than the plants. It also means that it’ll be close to lunchtime before I get on site and all because he chooses to not drive. That said, a trip to the hospital is not the time to force the issue.Right, need to get a move on.
today I am grateful for

Today both ds and dd are due home. This will be the first we have all been together since Christmas 2019 though they did make it home separately between lock downs last autumn. DS told me yesterday that his Covid test, taken because he’s in a hot spot,is negative. The dog won’t know where to look. She will be so excited with both vying for her attention.Right on cue, my back flared up yesterday so I won’t get half as much done as I wanted pre their arrival. I spoke to my gp who, while not seeing patients, is referring me for physio. I can’t understand that logic.Anyhow am heading in early as I won’t be staying long.Today I am grateful for
a negative test
the dog still being healthy for this visit
