I'm glad some good came out of the hospital appointment. Have a lovely weekend."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

Yay! A full weekend where I didn’t go on site was achieved. Got some work done, paid myself and my expenses from the business account and paid my July tax bill. The money doesn’t earn any interest so I thought it best to pay earlyish while logged into my account rather than risk a penalty for a late payment if I forgot.Yesterday I had my weekly chat with mr wii and there is no movement. I will happily take that as there was a lot of comfort binging pre thursday’s appointment. So, in 2 weeks time, my niece from a green list country and her husband are coming to stay for a few days. Operation sort out the house is ramping up a gear. On Saturday we managed to sort out our kitchen larder cupboard once again rendering the kitchen table clear. Three overstocked ingredients are now en route to the client with me today. There were also some out of date items that went to the food waste. These included cereal bought in expectation of Christmas visits home that didn’t happen until June and were a lot shorter without the bank holidays. Still, we all remain healthy.
Having paid myself, it looks like we could probably set aside £3k towards the year end £10k target. This is good as regular payments between now and then amount to approx £2.8k which means less than half to go.Need to get going as I’m not only on chef taxi duty but am hoping to get to the nearby recycling centre first. This is to drop off large cardboard boxes, an old and worn out dog bed, some bits and pieces of glass that our council still isn’t collecting due to covid.
today I am grateful for
not feeling overwhelmed at the thought of visitors though I may be deluding myself into thinking things will be ok!
some whoopsied items picked up yesterday that really hit the spot

Happy hump day everyone. Yesterday was close to a 12 hour day. I’m tired and overheated with hay fevered eyes that a friend kindly advised looked like 2 pi$$holes in the snow. However, I have one of my two payrolls completed for the month.Saturday is DD’s birthday and she, her brother and a group Of friends are having a long weekend away. Yesterday I posted a parcel other brother whose post tends to be more reliable. It was small bits and pieces including the mandatory multi pack of fingers of fudge that she could buy for herself at a corner shop. Who knows what liquid state they could be in by the time they get there.Yesterday three invoices got paid which is always a bonus. Plus I was approached to take on a new client. I also managed to persuade a client to take some action with associated deadlines. Maybe if it was cooler, I’d be more excited.
right need to try and identify weather suitable clothes. I’m aiming for an earlyish finish today so need to go in shortly.

So a week disappeared into late shifts coupled with two weekend night shifts. Yesterday I reminded the chair of what had been agreed and got more reasons to stall. I’m beyond fed up. Apart from that, not much has been happening. There is an inspection on Monday that we are likely to fail. I’m fed up being the only person trying to address that and have drawn a line. I have given the trustees 6 weeks’ notice and they have sat on their hands.
on other news, there have been bits and pieces of decluttering inc old recorded from the tv dvds that got 13 items out of the house. Money wise, household spends were relatively low with food coming from the freezer and being snack based as the heat just made eating proper meals too much of a faff. I did however treat client staff to some ice creams, etc.
I continue to be fed up, most especially by people who know that I feel I can’t abandon ship thereby getting them off the hook for doing things. This is seriously detrimental to any work life balance. So today I have a call with an RoI client so will be late going up. That’ll let me get the kitchen cleared as although dh does tasks in the kitchen, he never seems to pull it all together if you know what I mean.
today I am grateful for
subsiding heat
