We can do this. Though I’m not sure how the buttery toast and peanut butter that I just finished will fit into that plan!Yesterday was a bit of a rushing about but doing nothing day. There was further highlighting of a situation that I have to address today. There will most likely be fallout that won’t be good but I just need to hold my nerve.Yesterday my hairdryer overheated and cut out for a second time recently. It, along with my landline phones that no longer hold charge, need replaced. However there is absolutely no enjoyment in shopping at present. Even if I shop online, I frequently get to the checkout to find delivery charges of up to £70 due to brexit where it is free for the rest of the uk.
on a major plus, the garden service was here yesterday. I don’t know how but they have, for the first time ever, managed to get a stripe in my back garden grass that is regularly filled with dandelions, moss, etc. They arrived with a pre printed calendar that sets out their due dates for the rest of the year. Yesterday was about clearance and tidy up. Next visit will tackle beds. There’s a lot needed but already there’s a place where I can sit outside and grab a cuppa. Right, I’ve just been prompted about the need to go to work so need to get a wiggle on.
today I am grateful for

The gardeners sound just the job!
Awful about delivery charges though. Even if you can get things sent to family in England and brought over, who is happy to wait weeks or months?
I hope your work situation resolves as it needs to.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Nice to have you back INOD
. Your gardening service sounds like money well spent as a peaceful garden to relax in is very valuable to mental health I think.
The finances sound healthy and the car solutions sounds like a very sensible one.
Enjoy your weekend.

I really need to get back to regular posting. I need to be held to account. Yesterday I did my weekly weigh in and I’m back to obese by one pound. Why do I keep doing this to myself? Yesterday I spoke to dh about health issues that I had previously not disclosed. I’m waiting for a comment as he is apparently processing this. I wish I was a more considered person while wishing he was less so.On other news, I am continuing with my very slow clear out with a few things going for recycling on Saturday and a few bags to the charity shop. We have decided that we are going to tackle this house one room at a time. We ridiculously started with the boiler house. This brought a just in case item stored elsewhere back into use which I was happy with. I am going to purchase some currently half price small baskets from a supermarket that will make better use of shelf space and enable us to take some stuff from the top of the freezer.Yesterday I also laundered two pairs of curtains that were ridiculously dusty. I have already told dh off as he was going to put them back onto dirty windows. He’s not being lazy, he just doesn’t get it.Money wise, I’ve been a bit spendy and need to reign that in. We have a meal plan for this week which will help. Right, work beckons so I need to get sorted.
today I am grateful for
dh being on bank holiday which means he has time to walk the furry fiend before it gets too warm,
Someone showing gratitude and addressing a small issue for us free of charge

You have a lot on your mind at the moment, by the sound of things. I'm sure your DH will come on board and be supportive over your health once he's processed the information. I hope you are feeling okay in yourself?
I'm another whose weight is going up... why is that so easy, and losing it so hard? (Sigh).
It sounds as though you're making progress with the house, well done! though I suspect our DH-es are related, mine wouldn't see the dirt either. I see dirt but not clutter...need to start work on this again.
Keep chipping away! You can do this.

It’s a man thing - my dh would also put curtains up at an unclean Ed window and if he had to have the fridges or washer out would think nothing of putting it back without cleaning behind it 😏😏😏😏
Hope all goes well with the health issues 🤞January spends - £587.586
