Thanks Beanie. One major issue was resolved which was great. Lots more was cleared in the garden but there’s room for more in the skip. Right on cue our neighbour asked if he could put just one thing into the skip. He does this every time we get a skip. It’s infuriating but what can we do?I have house stuff I want to get done today plus I have work stuff needed for Monday morning but I intend to go laptop free today and work on that tomorrow.
today I am grateful for

getting resolution

Just catching up. It sounds like you are having a real time of it at the moment, with everything pretty much falling on your shoulders. I'm glad the gardening project is progressing, and hopefully you'll have somewhere you can escape to and relax soon. I'm with you on the clueless between plants and weeds thing - not a clue!
I hope you manage to get some down time this weekend x"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee6 -

I’ll bet it looks twice the size in your garden now. Do you have a plan for it yet or did you want to see how much space you have before the planning stage. Keep visualising that cuppa at your table and chairs and you’ll get there. We use google lens to identify plants/weeds....

thanks everyone for the garden related suggestions. It looks like I may need them. The gardener advised he was finished yesterday he has left so much undone but has charged us less. So hedges have been cut and some trees etc removed. No attempt was made to tackle ivy or even glance at flower beds or pots but the garden is clearer. I’m thinking of advertising on gumtree to find a gardener as opposed to someone who cuts grass and hedges. It’s so frustrating. Also, he got rid of a plant that I wanted to retain. Still he only came in £20 over our garden pot and I have £6 of that already in place. We called the skip people and they are collecting on Monday which is just as well as other people have been adding to it. Really!
yesterday I kept the laptop off and we mixed housework with laziness. Today I need to prep for a job for tomorrow at nine plus I am back on the hunt for the clothes horse fittings. The plus side is that I will clear out and tidy the cupboard under the stairs. Today I had my weekly conversation with mr wii and I’m stuck at 13 st 6 lbs though there is a slight upward creep. Am I the only one who feels that this has been a very long month?Today I am grateful for
the funds being available to cover the garden work

At least the gardener has made a good start for you and you can see where you’re going with it. Hope you find a new gardener soon.I think a screen free day is needed every now and then. I’ve struggled with working from home as I’m not particularly computer literate. At least after all these years I’ve learned I am in the right job and there’s no way I’m cut out to work in any sort of office 👍January spends - £587.586
