It makes perfect sense to share resources and use up so that you can re evaluate. Good idea the way you have allocated the Easter gifts.
Like you say - it’s hard to know what to wish for the older couple - we are certainly in tough times for many.January spends - £587.5810 -
Managed two full days away from the client though there were a few calls made. We have a house related problem as we discovered the outside drain is backed up and had started to overflow into the garden. We dug out what we could and have been tackling it at various stages with baking soda and vinegar, drain unblocker and boiling water. I deemed shopping for these items to be essential and combined this with dropping off supplies at the home of the elderly couple who are both hanging on.I think a professional may be needed for the drain but was trying to avoid over a bank holiday weekend with ongoing lockdown. It has put both kitchen and bathroom out of use but luckily the shower room and utility room empty on what appears to be the other side of the blockage. My laptop remained in its bag since Friday and dh and I binge watched killing eve. We are 13 episodes into the 16 shown so far. The remaining three give us something to look forward to. Apparently a new series is due this week too. We made use of the last of the farm shop goods over the weekend and will be back to eating from the fridge and freezer today.I am heading into the client (taxi duty for chef) while dh has a bank holiday today and tomorrow. He will spend part of this doing client work for me. This relates to a home working issue that has arisen due to c19.Today I am grateful for

Sorry to hear about the drain, glad you've got an alternative option to avoid call out over the bank holiday. Is there any chance you could get hold of some drain rods?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". We used to have a blocked up drain and sewage in the garden on a regular basis, so we now have our own drainage rods and it's saved us a fortune over the years. I hope you get it sorted soon. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I'll second the suggestion of your own drain rods, they do pay for themselves.
Glad you had time off and that the older couple have hung on and you were able to get some things to them.

So the elderly couple are as was. The supplies weren’t for them but for the family members looking after them.I went to client yesterday and made a bit of headway. One staff member saw me in a bit of a slump and offered to help. It really makes a difference when that happens not just in terms of stuff getting done.We had to exclude a service user for breaking the lockdown rules and I felt bad as he is vulnerable but we have to protect the others. Sometimes I just hate making the decisions.
the drain continues to empty slowly but it is emptying. I thought I may have been able to borrow drain rods but they couldn’t be found.Today I need to venture to the bank and I’m dreading it. Isn’t it odd how things that you took for granted are now becoming a big task?We are expecting a staff member to return to work today. He has been hiding behind the crisis and that must stop. First off, he was needed to look after his child. A week later, he had a one day stomach upset then he left two shifts early without prior approval then went off with non c19 related issues. My patience has worn completely thin. If he comes in today, it is to be given a warning.
we watched two more episodes of killing eve last night with just one remaining from season 2. That will be the treat for tonight. I think line of duty may be the next thing to watch.

It must be hard making some of the decisions you have to make but you have to make them for the good of the majority - rules are there for a reason and if you are prepared to flaunt them you have to be prepared to pay the price. Tough love!!
I haven’t watched Killing Eve but I was hooked on Line of Duty.January spends - £587.587
