Your new helper sounds great (with free eyebrow dye)
I hope that marks an upturn in your work.
I'm very sorry to hear about the older couple who are so vulnerable. I can understand the decision to nurse him at home where at least the people and the place are familiar to him.
I hope you have a positive day today.

yesterday I was able to get some supplies of PPE that we had been unable to source for a homeless health facility. I combined that with a trip to pick up steam cleaner cartridges. The supplier gave us a 20% discount as it was for a charity and therefore essential. Isn’t that heartwarming at a time when he could have charged a premium?
while there, I noticed they had local distillery made 350 ml bottles of hand sanitiser at £5 a pop. I picked up 6 to share out. I checked with dd on my drive back and the elderly couple are still hanging on however, while the family had PPE, they had been unable to source sanitiser so I dropped two bottles on the step and texted from the car.One bottle came into my house where we had half a small bottle and a staff member got one for his elderly parents. Two remain in the car boot. I have to admit, I much prefer the warm soapy water option but thought that this may be of benefit at keeping the other safe if dh or I succumb. While picking up the sanitation products, I drove past a sign for a farm shop that I’d heard of but never visited before. The supplier advised that it was still trading so I stopped off on my way back. £60 was spent but this will cover so many meals though I did dither about the 39p price tag on a clementine but reckoned it was a better option than a bar of chocolate. I also spent £5 on a large Victoria sandwich for the staff that was like the nicest, homemade cake you could find.Last night I did my invoice for this client and it was high but based on hours spent on site. It did not include calls or work done at home but I do feel a bit bad.
im nearly afraid to say it, in case I tempt fate, but I think things are starting to clear. I got home last night and got stuck into my kitchen. DH keeps on top of things like loading the dishwasher but doesn’t see the value in a clean cooker or clear worktops. It’s so weird.Right, I’m on chef taxi duty today so need to get going.

I'm glad you are achieving lots. Don't feel guilty about invoicing, you are worth every penny and more you give to this client. You've not invoiced for some work you do, so you are saving them money."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I love that you were able to get the sanitiser and share it out. Partly because it's going to help health-wise and partly because it will lift their spirits. A distillery near us is making some of our supplies.
As jwil says, don't feel bad about invoicing (especially as you haven't charged them for all the work you've done!). You've earned the money and it does sound as though you've been of huge benefit to the organisation.
A large pat on the back for choosing a clementine over chocolate! Not an easy one but as you know there are so many benefits to it.The farm shop sounds really nice (with added cake) so I'm guessing you'll be back there when work takes you past their doors.

As usual, I am tired. Have just found out that being the Easter bunny is my responsibility and I’m struggling to get eggs for 16! Was at the cash and carry yesterday and no eggs but managed to get the disinfectant wipes that are used to clean door handles etc every hour.On Wednesday, someone I’ve worked with previously contacted me looking a bit of advice for a client. An 8.30 conference call was arranged yesterday and once we get through this, I should have a new better paid piece of work which is good.
DS may be facing furlough but a staff meeting yesterday has deferred this a bit by two thirds of the team agreeing to take some leave which will at least mean that they will benefit from the upcoming bank holidays before facing a pay cut.
the news of the elderly couple is mixed. The husband is rallying but the wife, with relevant underlying health conditions, is plummeting. As of yesterday, it was thought that only a few hours remained.
DD is a key worker, not nhs, but has been so focused on getting done what’s needed, that she forgot this was a bank holiday weekend. She should have been home for it but because that was cancelled, had managed to wipe it from her thoughts.
right, am gonna go hunt for Easter eggs before picking up the chef.
today I am grateful for
remembering to pay my credit card bill
