If your cream is still in date and you have 15 minutes and an electric whisk, its easy to turn it into butter (beat till it looks like scrambled eggs then keep going. Eventually buttermilk will separate off which you can use in cooking. When all that's separated out, squash the butter together to get as much liquid out as possible, wash the pat under cold water and beat in a pinch of salt to help preserve it. Bingo - cheap butter and no waste.

Cream was 5 days over. It was bought for alcoholic coffees primarily but these didn’t happen due to the guest related frictions.
Yesterday was a bitty day. I did issue two invoices which is good as one took a considerable time. I also paid myself for end of December and paid my expenses and thereafter the credit card bill. We should just about squeak through January but February will be tough. Some days it’s so depressing when I see I still have more that £21k on my mortgage in excess of the original purchase price of this property. I know this is primarily due to being over generous when divorcing but it also includes at least two debt consolidations.
I can remember believing that I’d be mortgage free shortly after 40 and able to work on my pension. How delusional was I?
I’m worried that we are back to drifting and I’m tired of having to be the one to recognise and try to tackle this.
Anyhow work wise I got some things underway that should all have been finished and issued yesterday. This means I am ill prepared for an important meeting tomorrow evening. I’m seriously struggling and am fed up having to rely on dh to bail me out. It’s not fair on him. One thing I am working on is a proposal for additional resource between now and the end of March. I’m also giving them the option of binning me. It’s regular income but is so demanding and is stopping me from making an effort to gain other work.
Right I really need to get a move on.
Today I am grateful for

Agree cream was ready for the bin.
It sounds like a tough week: I know you will prioritise. This 'additional resource' sounds as though it's perhaps more trouble than its worth? However your clients seem to want to hold on to you!
Keep chipping away at that mortgage. They seem to reach a tipping point where things suddenly change and you are paying off noticeably more loan than interest and that's a heartening feeling!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I’m so tired. Tuesday was a 13 hour day, yesterday roughly nine hours then back in at 10 for an hour and a half. I just want to curl up and sleep for a year. Today and Friday will be full days and I have a 9 o’clock meeting on Friday evening and then back in Saturday afternoon.
On the plus side, I got a cheque for my large invoice. However, I still haven’t finished the accounts I need to do for last year to submit my tax return. I also haven’t seen my mother bar 10 mins at the weekend and I have a backlog of things to get done for this and other clients.
Still whinging about it won’t help. I need to get a move on.
Today I am grateful for

I do it badly beanie. It feels like I am constantly shortchanging everyone. I hate this and without dh picking up a lot in addition to his day job, I dread to think where we would be. There was another crisis last night that I was notified of at 11.25. They stated that I wasn’t needed but it took a while to get off to sleep afterwards.
Yesterday my cheque was lodged which brought my business account to its highest level yet. There are 2 bills to be paid and then between now and my year end, only outlay should be expenses and drawingsMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. So I need to work tomorrow, we still haven’t tackled the laundry mountain or sourced a washing machine repair man. I am going to see is a service wash is an option. If it costs less than I will earn for 2 hours work tomorrow and if the turnaround times work, I will finish up early this afternoon. Get home, strip the beds that were used by my visitors and get everything gathered up. I don’t change beds normally until they are needed again as the furry one sometimes divides her time between them leaving paw prints behind. I will then do a small underwear wash. It’ll also mean that we don’t have wet clothes all round the house. It should also make me feel less guilty about dh doing work for me if there’s less to be done around the house.
Today I am grateful for
