Brilliant news on the grant however it has inspired our trustees into thinking of other grants to apply for. I had to explain about the admin time these take when I don’t have admin resources.
The far away client work that was so urgent was deferred until fri. Irritating but better than people not being available when we get there. Yesterday there were a few nasty matters to deal with at the client. We have a staff member who believes themselves to be flawless while pointing out everyone else’s mistakes. They cause issues and can be a nightmare and are on shift today. It just makes going in more of a chore.
The dog was collected after work yesterday and the evening was spent in front of the box.
Today I am grateful for
An understanding b&b owner who is allowing a free change of reservation despite the booking site saying no refunds.

Well, it’s been a time of it. Worked south of Dublin last week, then dd came home fri night for the weekend then we were off to Leeds on Sunday for 2 nights. Concert was better than hoped, didn’t go to the home of fat rascals. I realised that if I had, I’d have eaten them and brought some home to freeze that I would have subsequently eaten when I’m trying to tackle the bs levels.
I’ve tested for 4 days in a row and while they are still high, they are going in the right direction. Some exercise would help but that’s even less likely than usual as yesterday I banged my leg on a large flowerpot yesterday, toppled and extended my arm to save myself and skinned my knuckles on a wall as I went down and staved my arm. I ache all over.
Before doing that I had a completely unsatisfactory doctor appointment. The man was dismissive at best, arrogant and just rude. I had made a list to cover off various points and he told me it should be one issue per visit. I did point out how difficult it is to get an appointment but that was disregarded. I am seriously considering a complaint. There was no apology for my appointment running more than 20 minutes late so clearly it is only his time that’s of value.
On other news, I got an invoice paid this week, I got a tender submitted and made a few inroads. I called to see my mother yesterday after the gp and before the fall. She was in the form for some fast food and insisted that I took £5 for collecting it! Really? What age am I?
Yesterday I had a fook it moment and dh and I have booked a holiday for next month. We are both just shattered and I’m not good at boundaries so need to physically remove myself from access to work sites.
It’s gonna be a busy month and I need to get motoring.
Today I am grateful for

A good holiday deal appearing at the right time

The holiday sounds like a good idea! You can't run on empty for long without consequences. How long are you going for? November can be such a dark month: it needs cheering up.
Good news that you have made work progress (you always do, but it shows your efforts are paying off). Not so good news on falling over the flowerpot and the rubbish doctor's appointment. Will they allow you to book a double appointment? We can do that at my surgery if there are multiple issues, though if I take a list I still end up pushing their time limits. If you still feel like putting in a complaint in a day or so, go for it. Being pushed for time is understandable but rudeness is not acceptable.
I hope the aches and pains soon resolve themselves.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

What has got into some GPs recently. They are just rude - I know mine was when I visited. Think they missed the bedside manner lessons at med school  I need to go back next week and if he speaks to me the way he spoke last time I will definitely be putting a complaint in about him - I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt as we can all have 1 off day but he’d better not contemplate having another off day with me......
Enjoy your break - is it somewhere nice and warm?January spends - £587.580 -
My break is somewhere nice and wintery. We will cruise to ny and have either one or 3 nights there depending on hotel points redemptions, Avios funded return flights, etc. I will be flat out between now and then.
Yesterday was tough, just one niggle after another but an invoice was paid which was great. I currently pay myself £800 pcm. I have decided to give myself a one of payment of £1k towards the holiday as it will still leave my annual earnings under the personal tax allowance. It will also reduce any adverse impact on the emergency fund which is still to be replenished by dd. When I asked about this, she advised that she thought it was to be repaid in a lump sum at the end of January.
I visited the gp surgery website yesterday. I filled in a feedback survey and went looking for the complaints process. Apparently you have to request this in person from the practice manager. They are clearly committed to improvement. I’m going to give the patient client council a ring on Monday and see what the current deliverables should be under the gp contract.
Yesterday I made physical inroads to clearing out garbage at the client. Two shred bags have been filled plus two boxes packed up to go to others. It’s ridiculous how the previous people feel it’s acceptable to abandon their junk for someone else to tackle.
Today we are going for lunch with friends that we haven’t seen in a few months.i also need to get laundry etc underway.
Today I am grateful for
The flowers dh bought to make me feel better

Your holiday sounds lovely.
I don’t blame you researching the complaints process at the GPs. I’m visiting mine on Wednesday and if he presents himself the same as last time I’ll be doing the same. We don’t visit them for fun and deserve to be treated with respect.January spends - £587.581 -

Went for lunch yesterday and both food and company were great. Came home and dealt with a few “tolerations”. These have crept in and crept up and enough is enough. This included things like sewing up a pocket on dh’s dressing gown, sewing up a bag, getting rid of the contents of a bottle that we will never use and getting the bottle to the recycling. I also dropped off 2 long outstanding gifts and that’s them gone. I am determined to come home from holiday to a house that is improved on how it is currently.
While I was at lunch, I received an email seeking my presence on a job tomorrow. That means that I will go into the regular client today as I only managed a day and a half last week and there are deadlines. It also increases the income and will give me the chance to catch up with two people who call in on a Sunday.
This morning I had a long overdue conversation with mr wii. I’m now up as per my signature. I’m setting an 8lb weight loss target for 5 weeks from now. This will be just before my holiday. I checked my bs today. It’s still high but heading in the right direction. I can do this if only to irritate my gp who doesn’t support the reduction in drugs, etc. I’m still not sure what to do about him!
Today, as everyday, there’s a lot to be grateful for. First thing is
That I can see how blessed we are
Good friends
