It is Christmas. Unfortunately the four legged alarm clock has failed to recognise the fact. Anything that is going to be done, has been done. My friend swung by yesterday which was good. My children are tucked up all snug in their beds and dh is making breakfast. Life is good and that is what I need to focus on. The other stuff will pass.
Yesterday I did 4 different shops, still forgot the ready to oven roast parsnips but no one will starve. I got a much bigger than expected turkey but it was a ridiculously cheap price. I spent all my nectar points then promptly started rebuilding them as I filled up with diesel and got four times the points with a voucher. I added to dh’s presents but only with on offer essentials that he had requested. Dinner was from fridge instead of our usual Christmas Eve takeaway so that was good.
Today I am grateful for

Wishing you and yours a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year. XXI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy0 -
I love church bells.

Today dh is back at work. DS departs tomorrow while dd leaves on Sunday. It all feels a bit flat. Christmas was good though we had to fit around the dc’s father and a visit to my mum who had made minus effort and barely acknowledged her gift while gushing about something else received that I know she won’t use.
We discovered that our garage fridge has died and the plug socket had fused but at least that got fixed. Hopefully getting rid of the fridge will prompt a tidy of the garage. It’s hard to believe that it used to house a car!
I went on line and paid 2 bills yesterday. I also paid myself my November expenses from my business account. I’m holding back on December until the month end. Part of me was hoping to have cleared £40k from the mortgage in the 4 years that I have been on here. I’m not sure from which tooth fairy I thought the money would arrive but it’d be too much of a stretch esp as we have our gas bill due for payment the third week in January. It really would have been nice though.
Today I may do a few hours at that client. I could drop dh into work and go for a half day. I could do the same tomorrow as I did say I’d do a day this week as the manager has a lot of leave to take.
Today I am grateful for
Having made it through the festivities relatively unscathed
Some thoughtful and nice gifts

Sounds like you had a lovely family Christmas.
I’ve just realised we didn’t have bread sauce at dds - I can take or leave but son in lawl usually makes a big thing of it - however it wasn’t missed one bit. My go to Christmas thing is turkey left overs I’d happily eat them till new year and I miss not having a turkey at home when we’ve been to dds.January spends - £587.581
