No TV debates apparently.
The remainers will be apoplectic.

This is the kind of thing you can get away with when the opposition is completely unelectable0 -
ICM snap poll done today
Conservatives: 46% (up 2 from Guardian/ICM over the weekend)
Labour: 25% (down 1)
Lib Dems: 11% (up 1)
Ukip: 8% (down 3)
Greens: 4% (no change)
People were asked if they supported or opposed Theresa May’s decision to call an election.
Support: 55%
Oppose: 15%
It was then put to respondents that May used to be adamant that she would not call an early election. They were asked which of these three statements they most agreed with.
The situation has changed, and May is right to change her mind: 54%
Nothing has changed and May is wrong to hold an election: 21%
Don’t know: 25%
There was a question about which team is best able to manage the economy.
Theresa May and Philip Hammond: 51%
Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell: 12%
And finally there were questions about whether leaders are doing a good or bad job.
May
Good job: 57%
Bad job: 24%
Net score: +33
Corbyn
Good job: 13%
Bad job: 61%

You're not kidding.
Imagine the LibDem campaigners banging on doors in places like Sunderland; trying to explain why Tim Farron wants to ignore their democratic vote in a referendum.
It smacks of London bias all over.
Nothing fundamental has improved for the disenfranchised voters out there, so why should they suddenly come over all progressive and look for the middle ground?0 -

I'm quite surprised by that. Why wouldn't you hold a debate when your competitors are so lacklustre? Unless it is to keep Sturgeon from trying to make it all about Scotland.
I think for all his faults, Clegg was far more telegenic and poised than Farron, and Cornyn can't even score when presented with an open goal at PMQs.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Why would you? You're winning anyway.0 -
Most callers to LBC and media commentators saying it's an election on Brexit.
Will the Remainers be wheeling out Project Fear 2?
If not, what's the Remain message this time?
Remain does not need a message, it does not exist. Conservatives will campaign on the white paper, hard Brexit is good for Britain, so all the other parties need to do is advocate "soft Brexit". Remainers will be more likely to vote for that than hard Brexit.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

Absolutely.
Or as some might say, May is not going to repeat the mistake that Cameron made in 2010. Although as it happens, the practice of holding TV leadership debates is only of recent origin. 2010 and 2015 and that's it, as far as I can remember.
What used to happen, back in the day, was that whichever party was behind in the polls would make a fuss about holding a debate, and whichever party was ahead in the polls, would say 'get stuffed'. If you are, for example, let's say 21 points ahead, what you want to do as a party leader is cruise to the finishing line taking as few risks as possible.
Confirmed.

To be fair, it's got nothing to do with the EU bill.0
