Theresa May speaking to the fire services as she should. It's her job to understand as best she can both what happened here and what immediate threat there may be to other buildings. Meanwhile Corbyn does everything he can to politicize a tragedy.

I see what you mean, there is a big difference.

Protesters march on Kensington Town Hall:-There is a palpable anger outside Kensington and Chelsea town hall. News cameras are focused on Lily Allen, but among local people there is discomfort with the authorities and the media. “Why are the media lying for Theresa May?” one local woman asked. “It’s disgusting.”

Any government minister was going to get a hiding so I don't blame may for not doing it.
Korbin probably went there to rile up the crows and victims promising retribution and that someone should stand up to the government and the cuts. Its shameful really

I have no doubt in my mind had Corbin been PM for a year rather than May this event would have turned out no different

May problem which was exposed at the election and now is she is an introvert and doesn't like making small talk and mixing with people (that doesn't mean mixing with poor people but with anyone she doesn't know). Unfortunate for strongly introverted types being PM isn't going to be easy.

I'm sure there's a considerable number of photos that JC hopes won't see the light of day. As one day they may well come back to haunt him.

Lily Allen is claiming, quite seriously, that the death toll figures are being kept artificially low in order to play down the tragedy.

Even the most rabid Corbyn supporter probably understands that official death toll figures are based on what bodies have been identified, hence why they steadily rise in terrible tragedies like this.

Lily Allen is a vile & spoilt little champagne socialist, who in this particular case should be told in no uncertain terms to butt out & stop intruding on and stoking up grief & misery of those involved.

Seraphima Kennedy, who worked for the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation (KCTMO) between 2007 and early 2016, told BBC Radio 4’s the World at One that the organisation was “massively overstretched”. The TMO, like lots of other housing providers in London and across the country was functioning in a severely squeezed environment. They were massively overstretched. She added: This cuts right to the heart of how the state views the poorest people in society. We have sprinklers in society; we don’t have them in high rise council blocks. Because they are too expensive? Because it would be disruptive? I mean it really does make you ask questions about how the state values lives and which lives it values.

Lily Allen originates from the area and still lives there.

    Their roles are different too
May could well have been asking what additional resources they need or if there was anything the police or army could do she could call upon.

Corbyn as a arm to cry on looks good in a photo but what actual help does it bring to the situation. If he is diving victims or concentration their anger towards the Tories its just shameful

Maybe the best thing to do now is to rehouse the people who lost their homes in this tragic fire in decent homes as quick as possible not take selfies with people that just lost their neighbors and family in a fire

Having said all this May is a disaster for the Tories and she will go

Unite is to donate £100,000 to the Red Cross London Fire Relief appeal set up to assist people affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The union has dozens of members living in the tower, some of whom have lost their lives. It also announced it would be providing legal assistance to the residents to ensure they are able to pursue the inquiry it says is now urgently needed. General secretary Len McCluskey said: We must get answers as to how this happened and action to ensure that this never happens again. Unite itself is grieving at the loss of our members who lived in that tower. We are volunteering on the ground in an effort to offer the community every assistance during this traumatic time. We will not rest until the full truth of what has gone is uncovered and we will not be allowing the shameful cuts to legal aid to prevent that truth from being exposed. Unite is sending lawyers to the community and has set up a freephone number for anyone needing legal assistance!
